“Unique ambiance”
Reviewed 9 April 2014

Very unique theme of a car repair garage. Some tables are located under cars raised on platforms or beside motorcycles. Very, very clean everywhere. Service great. Food good, but not well prepared. I had ribs. The meat was very good, but it seemed as if they were deep fried. The bill was surprisingly high.

Thanks for your review! I have relayed your comments to our kitchen so that we can work out the issue with the meat. Were you able to address your concerns with your server? At Billy Blanco's, we want every guest to be 100% satisfied and happy with their selections, and will gladly replace any dish you don't love. “Much Improved”
Reviewed 8 April 2014

I am happy to report that Billy Blanco's has straightened out most of the issues that I expressed concerns about in my previous review. Our service at dinner tonight was outstanding…a young woman named Lekzi was attentive, efficient, and friendly. We sat outside where we could enjoy the beautiful mountain views, and we were kept nice and cozy by the powerful overhead heaters. The food was quite tasty. I still think the portions are a bit too large, so my wife and I adapted by sharing the guacamole sampler (all were good but we liked the chipotle-orange best) and then sharing the barbecue ribs entree. The ribs were tender and smokey, lightly seasoned and enhanced by the Kansas City-style sauce available on the table. We were very content when we left, but not overly full. We took home a piece of chocolate cake to share for dessert, and that was delicious. Given that we were able to satisfy our hunger by sharing a meal, the price was very reasonable. I'm glad to be able to add this establishment into my rotation of restaurants, because the location at the base of Pinebrook is extremely convenient.

“Great Late Lunch”
Reviewed 6 April 2014 via mobile

We have been in many times and never disappointed. So nice to have a great margarita that isn't made with a nasty sour mix. Fish tacos are the bomb. Bacon guac is yummy. Great value, great service. Well done!

“Very Neat Theme”
Reviewed 25 March 2014 via mobile

Front the classic muscle cars having from the ceiling to the comfy bar chairs to the murals of Kid Rock and other Motor City homages this new venue rocks. We loved the energy and were glad we arrived early as the place was packed by 7 with a line out the door. Food was above average and the prices a skosh on the high side, but the tacos were flavorful and burgers seemed ok. We were told by locals that their fried chicken was the bomb but unfortunately none of our party was in the mood. We also thought the bartenders dressed as mechanics was a very cool touch. Located just one exit from the Canyons/PC exit - and right off the highway this is a worthy stop for sure.

“Unique atmosphere - bland food”
Reviewed 15 March 2014 via mobile

We ate here with our 10-year old at the recommendation of a friend who lives nearby. We thought the theme was very unique to Utah and appreciated the fun family friendly atmosphere. There were many TVs available to watch a variety of sports.

We arrived for an early dinner and were seated immediately. Our server, Colin, was outstanding and offered great suggestions to the food and beverage menu. I liked the fact that they don't charge extra for the chips and salsa but I would have liked to see a salsa with any amount of spice. We ordered the guacamole with bacon and it was okay. It also seemed bland and I didn't like the texture of the bacon in the guac.

The Chrome Margarita also recommended by Colin was very tasty, and I liked the fact that they used fresh ingredients - no sugary margarita mix here. However, at $10 a pop, I limited myself to only one.

Colin was right about the fried chicken, the pieces were large and the crunch was extra crispy - the best we've ever had. I thought the chicken enchiladas were bland (granted I prefer really spicy/flavorful Mexican food) and a little overcooked as the tortilla's edges were crunchy. My husband's taco trio was better but he prefers the flavor/combination of the tacos at Taqueria 27 in Salt Lake.

We will definitely be back as this is a good "something-for-everyone" restaurant but it won't replace my favorite go-to Mexican spots.
