“amazing B&B”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2011

We spent 3 weeks travelling round many of the National Parks in this area staying in a variety of accommodation. Rockville Rose was the place where we were lucky enough to spend our last 2 nights in the USA and our first experience of B&B USA style - wow! I can't believe they're all this fantastic! First you arrive at this so pretty house, then each of the bedrooms is done out in such an attractive way and then you have the most amazing breakfast cooked to suit your indivual needs! Scott is an ecellent host and we enjoyed chatting with him and the other guests. And its very handy for Zion!

This was the most comfortable accommodation that we experienced on our trip west. The king size bed was comfortable and the little extras were extraordinary. Susan made a wonderful breakfast every morning and Mike kept our coffee cups full. We ate out on the patio and shared our table with travelers from all over the world. On top of all that, it was a terrific value.

Great choice for a trip to Zion National Park (12 miles from the gate) where there is so much to do outdoors and returning to a comfy room with tired bones is a great option. The hosts were helpful and hospitable, the breakfast was yummy, the home was impeccable, the grounds very well landscapped with awesome collection of roses to earn its name. Would return in a minute and encourage friends to try it. Great National Park and charming area for restaurants and novelty shops. What a treat!

We stayed two nights at the Rockville Rose Bed and Breakfast on a recient trip to Zion National Park. Our hosts, Mike and Susan, couldn't have been nicer. They have four rooms and can accommodate 8 people. Our room was upstairs with the only king sized bed. All the other rooms have queen beds. The house sits back from the highway and is very quiet. It is located just a couple of miles from Zion National Park.

Breakfast was great, with a fruit salad that was to die for, made with fresh apples and pears picked from their own trees. Would we return? You bet, in a heartbeat!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
PLEASE NOTE: We are less a typical BnB, and more a "bed and full kitchen!" Learning from our time working as local outfitters and guides, and mindful of the many different food preferences and allergies, we work in a different model and do not offer a scheduled, prepared breakfast so you can better plan your meals in any way befitting your adventure schedules and eating routines. 2 Cranes Inn is a contemplative whimsical eco-conscious inn for your Zion Canyon explorations. Set back from the main road, there are four charactered and comfortable bedrooms to offer, each with their own full private bathroom. Three beds are queen-sized, one king, with extra bed options if needed. One room is on the ground floor with easy access. Two Cranes Inn invites guests to relax and mingle in our many common areas. The fully-equipped communal kitchen offers guests their own cupboard cabinet for storage and shared space in the refrigerator. Outdoors, guests are welcome to relax on the wrap-around porch and use the large gas grill on the covered back patio. There is a large sandstone-lined fire pit and extensive garden with fruit trees in which to meditate or swing in a hammock. To support and enhance your canyon retreat experience there are no televisions. Our free high-speed wireless internet is available throughout the property should you need to dip back into the digital world during your stay. There is also a digital printer available for guest use. In our large and fully equipped communal kitchen you will hopefully find all you need, including complimentary fresh-ground coffee, an assortment of teas, a room-specific cupboard for all your shelf-stable items, and a shared refrigerator. There are also a few basic convenient food items available (oat meals, juices, non-dairy milks, snacks) especially helpful if you happen to arrive late. There are also excellent grocery and restaurant options in the nearby town of Springdale, just up the road at the entrance to the national park. The Kolob Elk Room is our spacious and colorful upstairs suite with a queen-sized bed, full private bath, and an extra table and loveseat sitting area. With windows at each end of the room, it offers a bright and open atmosphere. Perfect for stretching out on longer stays. The Red Fox Room is our peaceful upstairs room with a California King bed, full private bath, and northern views. Great for sleeping in. The Dragonfly Room is our sunny upstairs room, with queen-sized bed, full private bath, personal writing desk, and southern views. It overlooks the front lawn with its many fruit trees and offers a view of Eagle Crags. Great for early risers. The Desert Tortoise Room is our sunny downstairs room with queen-sized bed, easy access, and full private bath. The window faces our spacious front lawn and enormous pecan trees. All rooms may be reserved at once for larger gatherings, weddings, holidays, corporate off-sites, or other special events. ... more   less
