On our westward trip we stayed at the Desert Thistle when we visited Zion National park. Maureen and Warner are charming hosts. We stayed in the Anniversary suite and the king bed was just perfect for these two hikers. When we arrived about 5 or so, we sat out on the patio absorbing the lovely view of the red rocks and just chilled. Great! They offer an unusual and yummy breakfast option. They found that people preferred different breakfast times so they now provide a voucher for breakfast in town (short distance) at Oscars. Great idea. Oscars is this funky cafe and we had the most outstanding huevos rancheros - really sent us off very well-rested, fed and pleased by our time in Rockville!

Room Tip: Anniversary Room was large, very comfy king bed and good shower.

We are in our early 50's and tried a B&B for the first time. The owners were both very pleasant and welcoming. Our room was nicely decorated as was the common areas. I didn't swim in the pool but the views were breathtaking with the mountains as a backdrop. They had refreshments in the sunroom if we wanted but they didn't fix breakfast for us. Instead, they gave us a voucher for breakfast in Springdale at a choice of places which were excellent.

September 2013 we stayed here for 2 nights. It was amazing. The area is beautiful, the bed&breakfast amazing and the owners are lovely people. The rooms are beautifully decorated and you feel very welcomed by the owners. The atmosphere is relaxed and after a hike in Zion NP you come back to this amazing place. We enjoyed it so much that we would recommend it to everyone. The price is perfect, especially in comparison with all the other hotels/lodges in the area. The owners know the area at it best and can give you all the information you need to explore Zion NP. You will get a voucher to enjoy breakfast in the village which is the best breakfast I had ever had in America :). I would definitely go back to Desert Thistle when I go to Zion NP. Enjoy it! (we are from Holland)

Room Tip: It depends on the size you prefer. We have seen two rooms (the smallest one and the one with the jac...

I have got the recommendation for a stay at the Desert Thistle from my brother who stayed with Maureen and Warner for parts of his honeymoon. That being that I must say that we had the most wonderful stay at the spacious Emeralds Pool room. Even though we weren't sure if we can make it to Zion due to the shutdown Maureen was very understanding and I was very happy that she kept our room free so we where able to move in for 2 nights after the park had been opened again. You'll get a voucher for a great breakfast in Springdale so you can make your way to visiting the park right after. We've met the adorable dogs at the house and enjoyed a few hours at the pool even. I really hope to be able to come back again - also for Maureen and Warner to practice their German.

We stayed 5 nights with Maureen and Warner. Despite the federal government shutdown we enjoyed our stay and Maureen and Warner ensured we had plenty of recommendations for areas to explore throughout their area along with great restaurant recommendations. They even upgraded our suite to help soothe the disappointment of not being able to hike too much. We ate at both restaurants for breakfast; I think our favorite was Oscars but the berry pancakes at Wildcat Willies were awesome as well. Never stayed at a B&B that didn't serve breakfast, however we enjoyed the flexibility.
