“Good for a road-trip stopover”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 September 2011

I spent one night in the St. George Fairfield Inn. My room was clean and comfortable, fine for a hotel in this price range. On check-in, I was offered a choice of floors for my room. I checked in around 10 at night, and was pleased to see that the pool and spa area was open until 11, a bit later than many places. I was able to relax in the spa, which was larger than the usual six-foot circle, after a long day’s drive. The wireless internet worked fine.
Breakfast was just adequate. They had the usual cereals and breads. The one more-elaborate item was a pre-packaged Jimmy Dean egg sandwich. It was just about flavorless, and I threw mine out half-eaten. Other than that minor issue, it was a good stay, and I’d stay there again.

We've stayed in several hotels in St. George as we have family there, but so far this is our favorite. I have never been disappointed staying at a Marriott facility. It's not fancy but it is tastefully and pleasantly decorated. The beds are not pillow top or anything special but they are comfortable. We had a wonderful night's sleep. The carpet looked nearly brand new and the entire room was spotless. When I climbed into bed, a wonderful scent wafted from the sheets. I don't know what they use to wash them in, but they smelled like they had been hung outdoors to dry in a meadow of flowers - just a hint - not a strong floral smell. Lovely!!

The breakfast was the continental type - bagels, muffins, sweet rolls, make your own waffles, 3 or 4 types of cereals, fruits, pre-made Jimmy Dean cheese/ham/muffin/egg sandwiches (don't bother-not great) juices and very good coffee.

The staff was very friendly, especially the lady keeping the breakfast foods filled. She was so accommodating and efficient that we felt it only appropriate to tip her.

The pool was a nice size, clean and popular with the kids and adults alike.

We will for sure stay there again and recommend it to anyone.

I was so impressed by the front desk clerks. Both day and night they were super friendly and helpful when asking directions, needing an item, etc. The hotel was very clean and I enjoyed having a fridge to keep my water bottles in and a microwave to heat up leftovers. It is walking distance to the Dixie Conference Center and Cracker Barrel is next door. The hotel has an excellent continental breakfast, pool was clean and beds were comfortable. Definitely would stay there again.

Room Tip: Best rooms are on first floor close to everything

Good hotel for a good price. This is not a cheap hotel and I think it's a good value. Couple of items I thought were good about the hotel was the pool, though pools can always be bigger in my mind (especially in hot desert places....like St George), the continental breakfast was good and helped save money (especially with a family of 5) and it was clean. A few opportunities for the hotel would be new beds, new bathroom fans that don't sounds like a 747 when you turn them on and that's all I can think of. I would definitely recommend this hotel but I would say if they don't continue to give it some TLC it may be one that I may be disappointed in down the road. At any rate, I don't think you can go wrong staying there this year.

Friendly and early check-in. Very clean room. Micro wave and fridge. Room was quiet despite being close to highway and ours was facing the pool and highway. Nice free breakfast. Egg and ham muffins, waffles, hard boiled eggs, fruit, danishes and more.
Housekeeping made up room fast both mornings.
Great shower.
Close to convention center.
I haven't stayed in a Fairfield Inn for a while and was rather impressed.

Marriott hotels are always my first choice when traveling for business or pleasure but this one had more issues then last 20 stays combined. The bed was the hardest I've ever laid on. They billed my credit card when I reserved it on points. The person working the front desk refused to correct this on checkout and said only Marriott customer service could correct this. I called Marriott and they said she was wrong not to fix this at checkout. Thank goodness this is the exception. Almost forgot to mention: the hot tub was broke too.
