We recently stayed for 2 nights on a biking trip. The room was well appointed, clean, and well laid out. The view was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the studio aka "the nest" and will be back. Only downside was the weather was hot and the pool not yet open. The quality of food, wine and service in the xcetera restaurant close by, within the community and walking distance more than made up for the not yet open pool however.

Service was exceptional from booking to check-out. Thank you, Tyler for helping to make our stay comfortable. We look forward to returning next month during the Parade of Homes. The units are well-equipped with Ikea-type furnishings - chic and charming with modern kitchen. The inn appears to be brand new and extremely well-maintained. Parking is outside without shade for summer but not a problem for other seasons. Quiet property, relaxing, and short walk to Xetava Gardens restaurant. Our new favorite place to stay in St. George since we love Kayenta and this inn. We enjoyed riding cruiser bikes in the neighborhood and running/walking the streets. A car is needed to go anywhere (e.g., Snow Canyon, into town, etc...) but why leave when you are already in paradise?

Room Tip: There is not a bad room!

Unique place and great for a romantic get away becaue it was very quiet and private. It is actually an apartment and not a luxury hotel, but you will want to spend all your time on the balconies. There are two and one looks onto the red rock canyon, the other looks out to snow covered mountains. The furnishings are pretty basic, but we did not mind since the views were so spectacular.

It is right down the road from Xetava Gardens Cafe, but no nearby grocery stores so if you want to stock up on some things stop in St. George.

Room Tip: Be sure and get an upstairs unit so you can go up on the roof!

I had made a reservation for an apartment on the upper floor based on the information on the website.
Bedroom, living room, large kitchen and... two balconies!
One you could walk onto from the bedroom, the other you could walk onto from the living room.

I was in shock when I entered my apartment (#1504 'The Nest') which seemed like a much smaller version than the ones advertised.
Where was the luxury? The extra space? The second balcony??
It was there I discovered later, but could only be entered after walking out of the front door.

My first reaction was deep disappointment.
I had come here expecting luxury, I got a small apartment which was not that impressive.

I had made a reservation for four nights and I must admit: the place grew on me.
The kitchen was great. Big refrigerator.
The WiFi was great too.
And I got used to walking out of my front door to sit on the second balcony very fast.

I loved watching the rabbits and the quail and the roadrunner (saw that one just once).
I will definitely return and hopefully if I stay for a week - like I have in mind - this time I will get one of the other upper floor apartments.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the upper floor apartments that is not 'The Nest'

We had two events in Vegas that were 6 days apart and decided to save our sanity, livers, and wallet and retreat to Utah for a few days of R&R. The drive from Vegas to St. George is worth the trip in and of itself; miles and miles of nothingness makes you appreciate the vastness of the US. This Inn is outside of St. George and after arriving we were happy with our decision to stay on the outskirts; St. George is nothing but a chain restaurant infested suburb that happens to be surrounded by beautiful places to hike like Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Snow Canyon State Park. We fell in love with the little community, Kayenta, the Inn is tucked in with its gorgeous views, incredible pool, art enclave, and warm and friendly people.

Service: This isn’t a typical “B&B,” with an inn owner attentive to your every need. The Crescent Moon is more like a series of apartments that you can rent. There is someone at the main office to check you in (drive past the Crescent Moon left turn sign about ¼ of a mile and it is on the right of the road across from the restaurant/art shops). As others have stated, check in is from 3 – 5, otherwise other arrangements to pick up your key must be made. It is worth noting that Utah is on Mountain time; coming from Vegas we thought we were arriving at 3:30pm but it was actually 4:30 (whoops!). When checking in you get a packet with information on where the local grocery store is, the art shops, and other places of note. The man was very friendly, showed us where the pool was, and gave us some tips on the area. That was the last we interacted with anyone who worked at the Inn, so if you require more hands on services this is not the right place for you.

Room: We stayed in the “Morning Star” suite (not listed on their website), and would recommend any of the second floor suites. The Crescent Moon Suite is their corner suite and is probably the premier room to book. One side of the building overlooks a storage facility, but the other side has amazing views of the red mountains, and local reservoir (where we watched people, children, and dogs frolic and swim). We had a balcony on each side of the apartment- one off the bedroom, and one off the living/dining area. We did not spend much time on the balcony, however, because the second floor suites all have access to the rooftop. The first floor rooms have lovely patios for relaxing, and are dog friendly for those traveling with four-legged friends (just be careful in the evening of coyotes!).

Roof: Worth the price of admission! The balconies and roof aren’t very private for “intimate” moments, however the views are outstanding. We drug our balcony furniture to the roof and sat there for hours watching the colors change with the sunrise and sunset, chatting with a couple in the room next to ours about their hiking adventures, and best of all, watching millions and millions of stars dance above us. We will return for the stargazing alone; and will make sure it’s not a bright full moon on our next visit.

Room Amenities: The apartment was clean and well maintained; my only complaint would be the amount of kitchen things available. The restaurant in the community, Xetava Gardens, has very limited hours and was actually closed for maintenance during our trip (which was a real bummer given the reviews), and with St. George full of lousy chain restaurants we opted to do more cooking in the room. Basic pots and pans, some cooking utensils, dishes, glasses, and a single mixing bowl were all that were available. A baking sheet or roasting pan, anything that could go in the oven, would be very helpful! A community gas grill to be shared by the apartments would be an excellent addition as well.

Kayenta Community: We loved the community and coined it nouveau hippie; big houses full of families and retirees in their own commune like setting away from traditional society. We had the pool, which is right by the office, (open during warmer months- guessing April – October/November) almost all to ourselves. Occasionally a resident or two from the community would swing by for a swim or to enjoy a glass of wine by the pool, but we spent hours with a pool all to ourselves. The residents who did come were very friendly and gave us recommendations on which hike to do at Zion and where to eat. We hiked around the property which includes an art walk and a labyrinth. The Coyote Gulch Art Village is packed with local artists showing off their works. We had a great time wandering through the shops and purchased some really nice handmade jewelry from a couple of the shops. There is also a spa in the art village, which we did not have a chance to visit but the prices were very reasonable (especially after looking at the spa prices in Vegas!). Biggest Loser fans, the Kayenta community shares a road and a view with the Resort at Fitness Ridge.

WiFi: The room wifi was free, the signal good, and the password given to you upon check-in.

Evening Cocktails: This is Utah where it is nearly impossible to procure any booze. There was plenty of really good microbrew beer at the little market recommended by the hotel, but that was all we could find. I was very happy we brought a few bottles of bubbly from Nevada! One of the locals in the community told us that “if we wanted booze or lottery tickets the Arizona border was only a half an hour drive.” Lounging by the pool in the 100 degree desert heat, surrounded by red mountains and cacti calls for an icy cold margarita; wish I would have smuggled tequila into Utah!

I'm giving this Inn 5 stars because we had an absolutely amazing experience, a great night sleep, and will definitely return. This hotel is not for everyone; those who need to be close to restaurants, have service staff available, or need their rooms cleaned every night should stay someplace else. Everyone else, check this place out, you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Get a second floor room, with great views and roof access.

We stayed 3 nights in August, 2012. The Inn is a little out-of-the-way--about 15-20 minutes to downtown St George, but it's worth it. Nice, well-equipped 1-bedroom suite. Full kitchen (check the dishes and utensils--ours weren't very clean), two balconies (ask for a 2nd floor room), and an absolutely beautiful setting in Kayenta. Check out the local art village and cafe--there's also some nice hiking trails nearby. Check-in is at the nearby Kayenta homes office--you'll need to call someone to bring you your key if you arrive after 5pm. Very reasonable cost but no daily housekeeping service. Overall, a good experience. We'll stay there again.

We stayed at the Crescent Moon Inn 4 nights in April 2012. Check-in is at a separate office which is difficult to find since there are no signs or street numbers. We arrived shortly after 5:00 PM and the office was closed so it took another hour to finally get our room key. We were in a ground level unit which reeked of Mr Clean, the smell was so strong that we had to leave both doors open so we could even tolerate being inside. The stench was still strong when we left.
The unit was sparsely furnished, cement floors - no rugs, the bedroom was easily 20 ft sq but only had a bed and a dresser in it, while the living room had a sofa and chair and coffee table and TV. The kitchen was reasonable, included some snack items, but there was no dining table/area.
According to the website there's a pool somewhere, we never saw it. We made a purchase in the artist village and the restaurant there is certainly worth a meal.
We liked the area and made the most of our stay, visiting Zion and Snow Canyon Parks and saw a show at the Tuacahn outdoor amphitheater - wonderful!
I would not stay here again and cannot recommend this place. The website doesn't seem to accurately describe the reality. If I were to visit this area again I'd stay in Santa Clara which is a beautiful community, or St George.
