“Really good option for a few hours with children”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 November 2013

We spent a couple of hours here on a Saturday afternoon in early November (after visiting the excellent dinosaur museum). As other contributors have said, it is basically an open space full of large sandstone boulders, canyons and sandy trails. There are great views of St George and our boys loved just wandering around, climbing the rocks, hiding in the caves etc.

The one negative point, again as others have mentioned, is a lot of broken glass on the site. I suppose various St George youngsters go up there on a Saturday night to watch the lights, drink beer and break bottles. We were careful and avoided any problems, but it would be good if the authorities had a bit of a clean up.

Nonetheless, I would recommend Pioneer Park as a nice option if you have a spare few hours in St George.

“Free and fun!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2013

We had a group of 6 boys ages 6-15 and 4 adults we all had fun!!! It is free and we spent about 2-3 hrs there playing and walking around tHe rocks. Make sure you find the rock that is like a mini "narrows" if you don't like really tight places don't try it but if you don't mind it was the kids favorite.

“Great quick stop for kids in St. George”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 October 2013

My three boys (ages 6-10) enjoyed climbing the rocks at Pioneer Park more than any of the National Parks in the area! It was a great quick stop and they could've been happy for much longer. In October the weather was great but would be crazy hot in summer with no shade. Also there was broken glass all over much of the park and steep cliffs, so kids need to be supervised closely.

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 October 2013

The weather was cooler than the hot hot summer temperatures to be outdoors so we spent a little extra time hiking the red rocks and sand overlooking St George. We always get some photo ops here with the great rock structures and this time was no exception!
