“A significant part of Western History”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 September 2013

Brigham Young's home is worth spending an hour or so by taking a tour. Much of the furniture was his and all of it is authentic to the period he lived there. The gardens and vineyards are amazing when you hear the history that is related to them. The home is located in historic St George where you will find other sites of interest.

“Interesting House”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 September 2013

The house is a time capsule of the latter part of Brigham Young's life. He spent his last 7 winters in the house. The original house was expanded for him by Mitt Romney's great, great grandfather. Some family owned furnishing, all period pieces otherwise. Beautiful chandeliers. Nicely landscaped grounds with mulberry trees. The early Mormon settlers tried raising silk worms and needed the trees for food. Informative tour guides.

“A must-do if you love LDS Church history!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 September 2013

I've taken the tour twice now about 10 years apart - both times the missionaries who lead the tours were knowledgable, friendly and fun. It's a beautiful home and grounds - so interesting to see how things were back in Brigham's day. It takes less than an hour and is well worth it.

“Good information”

The hosts are informative and pleasant. Good background on how St. George came to be and why it came to be. It includes some of Brigham Young's personal belongings which makes it all the more special.

“An interesting stop if you have time.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 September 2013

Not being a member of the LDS Church, we were interested in learning a bit about Brigham Young and his winter home. It was a fairly brief tour, as there is not much to the house and it does not have a ton of things in it to look at, but it was all interesting. If you have time, I think this is worth the stop, but I would not bypass other areas of interest in the area to do this tour unless this works into your schedule.
