“Amazing experience at the Inn at Entrada”
Reviewed 14 July 2012

We recently celebrated our 10th anniversary at the Inn at Entrada.

We stayed in a Studio Casita, and we have never stayed at a nicer place.

The complimentary lotions and shampoos were all top notch. The 'push-button' everything (blinds, fan, fireplace, lamps, lights, etc) were awesome. The shower was nice. The jetted tub was relaxing.

Over the course of a week, we had many 'visitors' on our back porch. Ducks, rabbits, frogs and even a lizard. The waterfall ponds were awesome!

The cleaning staff were great and the front desk were extremly helpful.

This is the perfect spot to stay if you are seeing the plays at Tuachan. Only a 5 minute drive.

The units are spacious and the views are beautiful, but don't assume this is a luxury resort just because you are paying an expensive price.

BIG COMPLAINT: The thermostat for the air conditioning has been permanently programmed so that it won't go below 79 degrees. This is insanity given the hot summer temperatures of St George. I spent a half-hour fiddling with the thermostat but it is apparently impossible to override the temperature setting. As a result we had a very uncomfortable night tossing and turning in a hot bedroom.

For guests paying this kind of money, I am truly surprised that Entrada would impair the experience in such a way. Skip the sauna at the spa - just sweat it out in your room instead. Or stay at a budget motel in town which actually has COLD air conditioning.

ANOTHER DISAPPOINTMENT: The operating hours for the pool are too limited and the staff is very persistent in hustling guests out at closing time. What luxury resort does this? During the sweltering summer months, the pool is the main attraction - DUH! There is literally one employee who staffs the pool and fitness area. Is that one employee really so expensive that Entrada cannot be more liberal with the operating hours?

These are examples of how Entrada is not really a top-tier luxury resort focused on the guest experience, but rather a pound foolish operation more concerned with pinching a few pennies.

The Inn at Entrada regrets that gblotter recently experienced an unsatisfactory stay. We would like to encourage this guest to contact us directly concerning these complaints as we were not alerted to them during their vacation when any confusion could have been immediately addressed.
However, would like to reassure all guests, including gblotter, that our air conditioning thermostats are in no way overridden by the Inn at Entrada. Each casita is equipped with a state-of-the-art Smart House system; including one touch lighting, window shade, fireplace and thermostat controls. If a guest chooses to vary the temperature range of their particular suite or casita, they have complete freedom to do so by lifting open the cover of the thermostat and altering temperature and fans. Once again, if gblotter had contacted our staff, we would gladly have come to their casita to provide immediate clarification on using the system. As it were, we regret they found their stay uncomfortable and would love to welcome them back for a more enjoyable stay.
In regards to the pool hours and other complaints, our Entrada Sports and Fitness Center (including the pool area) hours are from 6 am until 9 pm Monday through Saturday, 9 am to 9 pm on Sundays. Staffing varies from four employees during peak hours to one staff member just prior to closing.

We stayed in a studio casita that exceeded expectations. It was immaculate, private, and relaxing. We were there for just 2 days and didn't investigate the fitness area or the swimming facilities; nonetheless would stay there again at the soonest opportunity. Sliding glass doors led to a patio featuring a pond and small waterfall, and the scenery in the surrounding area, including Snow Canyon, was spectacular. I found the desk staff accommodating in every regard. We loved it!

Room Tip: I'm only familiar with the studio casite, which was wonderful!

The Inn at Entrada in St George is an incredibly nice getaway. The fitness area and swimming pool/hot tub area was superb. The employees were very friendly. The 1 bedroom suite was spacious and had a wonderful kitchen area. The king bed was very comfortable and the courtyard and patio areas were very relaxing and beautiful. We went in the summer and the rates were reasonable. The physical surroundings were breath taking. I highly recommend the Inn and can't wait for chance to go back. One of the best places I have ever been.

This is by far one of my favorite places to stay. The scenery is great and the rooms are excellent. My mom and I were trying deciding on a place to stay about a year ago because we had bought tickets to see the plays at Tuacahn Amphitheater. This Inn is only about a 5 minute drive to the theater which is why we initially looked at it. I read other reviews on tripadvisor and looked at their website and was sold. I'm glad we stayed here! The staff in all locations related to the Inn are great and they are readily able to accommodate any requests. The fitness center has exercise machines as well as free weights. They also offer different fitness classes, but I have never tried those. The pool area is also great - very pretty. There is also a restaurant and golf course on site, but I have never been to either. The golf course is beautiful with all it's surroundings though. The rooms are spacious and have a full kitchen with everything needed to cook right there. A studio room is even spacious for 2 people. The patios are peaceful and relaxing. We just got back from another trip to Tuacahn and the Inn and we will definitely be back!

Room Tip: A one bedroom casita would easily sleep 4 people.

We booked a 5 night reservation on a recommendation from a local resident, and we were in no way disappointed. This place far exceeds anything we have ever expected. We have stayed in many a deluxe resort over the years, and this has to rate at the top. From the architecture to the spectacular view overlooking the golf course to the club house to the pool, there is not much negative to say at all. The staff is friendly and very pro-reactive to every need or request. Chocolate chip cookies are left every day. The families of ducks are always there whenever there is outside activity, and it would be easy to go through an entire loaf of bread in one sitting. They would eat right out of your hand. We booked what turned out to be a home with a suite attached. The suite has it's own sink and a hotel sized refrigerator. There is a microwave, dishes, a toaster and a coffee maker provided with an assortment of Starbucks coffee packs and Tazo brand teas. There is a pull out sofa sleeper in the living room so that six could sleep comfortably. The suite could be set separate and the doors between them locked so as to be booked by two different parties. The rest of the home has a full kitchen and appliances including a stackable washer and dryer. There are 3 fireplaces; one in each bedroom and one in the master bedroom. Each side has it's own entrance and it's own garage! The 5 large panels of sliding glass doors in the living area and the 4 smaller panels in the suite overlook a patio, and have window coverings that drop from the ceiling with the push of a button. It did take a little time to figure out all of the buttons which controlled virtually all of the lighting, and for those who are "visually challanged" the labels on each one is difficult to read. There is even a single button for "good morning" that raises the window coverings and turns on all of the lights, and another that says "good bye" that lowers the panels and turns out all of the lights. Each bathroom has a large jacuzzi tub. An annoying feature of these tubs is that they automatically purge themselves about 45 minutes after the tub is drained. This catches you by surprise and is quite noisy. If you bathe later at night, this feature may wake you after you retire. We solved this problem by leaving the water in the tub overnight, and draining it in the morning. If you have an extended stay, you may have to learn the timing of the sprinklers. We found this out after my wife left some jeans out to dry and they got soaked. The clubhouse is a full service spa with massage, weight and exercise room. There are tennis courts and a basketball court. There are both indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs. We may have the opportunity to dine in their restaurant later. We would definitely recommend this as a top choice!

This was our second trip into the St. George area and we had no doubt where we wanted to stay. We got playing priveleges at the championship style golf course (a challenge for any level of golf). Only "hotel" where we received a garage door opener for our essentially semi-detached residence. The staff and service at the Inn were superior. We recommend this place to anyone staying within 100 miles.
