I was trying to find the Inn in the rain; cell signals to the Inn did not work. The sign to the Inn is also tiny! In the end, the difficulty of finding the Inn outweighs the option of staying here versus somewhere else on the road. The cabins are small and really does not sleep 6 adults comfortably. Our family should have rented 3 for the 11 of us. Still, the amenities are nice--kitchen has all the things needed to make a meal and it's great to have 2 full baths. And the jacuzzi was nice though only warm.

If the Stone Canyon Inn were simply a hut or a pup tent, the location alone would make it one of the more spectacular, beautiful places I've ever stayed. The Inn sits at the eastern edge of Bryce Canyon National Park, elevated above the town of Tropic, with a wonderful view of Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument to the east. A person could do worse than spend the day sitting on the deck and watching the shadows and colors play across the rock formations. (But you'd be missing out on all that the area has to offer, so, I wouldn't recommend it.)

The Inn itself is also easy on the eyes, with an open-beam atrium and a free-standing fireplace right off the entrance. My wife and I stayed in the Juniper Room, the smallest room the Inn offers. It was cozy and very comfortable. While you probably won't be spending a lot of time online or watching the tube, the wi-fi was fast and reliable, and the room had a very nice HD TV. We heard no noise from the rooms upstairs or the room next to ours. Sleep was no problem. The breakfasts were delicious, very rich three-course meals, with coffee and fruit juice.

Dixie and Mike, and their handyman Bernie, were helpful and accommodating. The Inn is not a full-featured hotel, which suited us fine--we're pretty self-sufficient. The owners do offer helpful suggestions about all the area has to offer.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Stone Canyon Inn--it was much too short! I expect we'll be back sometime.

Room Tip: The swing seat off by the koi pond below the deck is a nice spot to read a book, and wi-fi is accessible there, too.

We have a family with 2 young children, and rented one of the private cabins. it felt like a dream, you are remote in teh middle of beautiful mountains yet in a completely modern sleek cabin with all the amentiies. jacuzzi on the porch! how unreal. You are so close to bryce canyon, but yet away from anything that feels remotely touristy. Simply treat yourself to some serenity here. And a major plus is that the owners are so friendly, helpful, and full of great tips for local hiking . She even let us borrow her hiking backpack that we could put our 2 year old in. it just had a magical feel all around.

Room Tip: if you are travelling with kids i highly recommend a cabin

When you visit Bryce Canyon, your options for overnight accommodations are extremely limited. The local Ruby's Inn is your generic motel and would probably be suitable for large families looking for a less expensive place to stay. On the other hand, if you prefer to stay at a gorgeous, well appointed and comfortable home allowing you all of the luxuries of a high-end B&B, then look no further than the Stone Canyon Inn. From the minute you arrive, you know that you have arrived at a very special place. It is well worth the 15 minute drive outside of Bryce. The innkeepers are so hospitable and extremely knowledgeable on the surrounding areas. And, the breakfasts are superb!! They serve a 3 course breakfast that will keep you smiling and energized throughout your day of adventure. The back patio with an awesome view is a great place to settle down with a glass (or bottle - purchase at Ruby's) of wine after exploring the unforgettable sites at Bryce. My husband and I highly recommend the Stone Canyon Inn.

This is by far one of the best holiday rentals we have ever had. We booked a lovely cottage with a separate upstairs bedroom and a pull-down double in the lounge downstairs. The property is clean and beautifully presented with lots of attention to detail. Dixie was wonderful and happy to provide us with information of the area and help us out if we had any problems. It is a stunning, quiet location with fantastic views. We had WiFi, a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and a lounge. Perfect! We all wished we could have stayed longer.

Room Tip: Any room or cottage you choose is likely to be good. It is such a quiet location and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
