We stayed at the Maple Leaf Inn for three nights during which time we attended the Dartmouth graduation. While the Maple Leaf was a bit far from Hanover, it is a very picturesque drive and not a hardship. The Maple Leaf is one of the cleanest places in which I've had the pleasure to stay. The owners, Nancy and Mike, are helpful, kind, and very talented---Nancy is an outstanding chef and Mike is an excellent gardener. Of course, they both wear many other hats. The breakfasts are just wonderful---we enjoyed homemade waffles, blueberry pancakes, homemade biscuits, a marvelous egg soufflé, among many other fresh and delicious treats. Our room had the feeling of excellent planning and anticipation of guests' needs---whatever we needed was already there. Also, the owners left lovely surprise items like little flashlights and notepads for us. This was a very enjoyable place to stay and we heartily recommend it. The location is only about ten miles from Woodstock where we would recommend the Prince and Pauper restaurant and the dining at the Woodstock Inn. Also, we enjoyed a nearby farm to table location, Cloudland Farms. The shopping in Woodstock is lots of fun as well.
