“Clean, friendly, great location”
Reviewed 12 August 2013

We stayed for one night, check in on Sunday, check out on Monday. The place was booked solid all weekend, and still the staff managed to have our suite ready for check in at 3. The room was large, very clean and had two televisions. The lack of an elevator is completely irrelevant as the Inn only has two floors. We arrived early from Cape Cod, and the staff was more than willing to allow us to use the pool for the day (both before check in and after check out on Monday). The staff was very knowledgeable and directed us to a dinner location that provided one of the best meals I have had. The pool is amazing, and very well kept, and the grounds are meticulously kept and provide a great place to lounge around. Parking is plentiful, and a short walk takes you to the Brown Cow café where we had one of the most amazing coffees we have ever had (and we have traveled the world). Simple, nice, and accommodating. The location is a stones throw from the center of town, and convenient to the war memorial. Cannot wait to return to the Inn and extend our stay to enjoy all that this great area has to provide. A truly great, comfortable stay and a staff who aim to please. Cannot beat the location, cleanliness and price.

for the price it is clean and comfortable and my kids love the pool but what good is it all when the people next door sound like they are in your room....thank god they fell asleep at midnight. and I was frustrated that I could not access internet but the staff was helpful and allowed me to use their printer....

Thank you for the review and I would like to apologize for the poor Internet connection. We have replaced a router and fixed the problem with the wifi. I'm sorry to hear the people in the room next to you were keeping you up. My sincere apologies and thank you for the feedback.

Booked this hotel because it was close to downtown and the price was right. We were impressed by the landscaping and the size and cleanliness of the room and grounds. The comfortable king bed and chairs inside and outside made it a good place to rest during the rains that passed through. We had a ground floor room in the back which is ideal. The room also had a spa tub and sauna which made it extra nice. We have spent much more on lodging and gotten far less than the Paradise Inn. It is an older motel but very well kept up.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back if you want to enjoy the garden.

We knew nothing about Bennington or the Paradise Inn when we set these reservations... what a treasure we found!! We took other reviewers advise and took a room with the patio but after looking at the property, there are other first story properties that look out into a large yard while ours looked out to a shrub. Very clean and very friendly staff, especially the man who checked us in on the first day. He is not old but is a little last middle age.... and is very accommodating to everything we asked for and that of other customers. The grounds are great!..... and don't miss going to Bennington Pottery... that is a real surprise, very big and very economical and great products.

Room Tip: Close to downtown and a really good place to spend some time with family!

Thanks for the review. The Pottery is a treasure glad you visited it. The shrub is for privacy but I do understand it takes from the view of the beautiful grounds. If you come again opt for a second floor with a balcony and look down at the garden pool area. You won't be disappointed . Thanks for the great review.

Booked this hotel because of TripAdvisor. It was accurate. The room was clean and quiet and we only had to pay $5 extra for our dog. Nice part was that all pet rooms are on the first floor with sliding glass doors. Ours opened to a grassy hillside so that our dog could go out from the room and not have to go through the lobby. Coffee and tea were in the lobby, not in the room, which was fine. Decent coffee too! There are no special amenities like a mini bar. TV was a little fuzzy but worked. A decent place to spend the night, with our dog. Didn't need the AC or heat - the weather was cool.

Ludicrous lapses. First of all, the signage is terrible. It took ten minutes to FIND the office to check in. (There's a small sign saying "office," but you have to be there already to see it.
Nobody knows anything. There was a skylight over the bed. I wanted to take a nap. I called the front desk to ask if there was a shade so as not to have sunshine in my face. They had no idea. A guy showed up (manager? maintenance guy) to show that there was a shade, and with a hangar from the closet he managed to close it. Later I found that there was a pole in another closet with a hook on it, designed for this purpose. The coffee shop, :"The Brown Cow" (locals call it "The Mad Cow" is no open on Saturdays or Sundays. There was a coffee maker that worked, but a sign over the sink requesting that guests wash their own dishes.
At least we are not expected to make the beds. Also, the lighting is inadequate

Thank you for the feedback it is always appreciated. The Inn has two signs on Main Street and one on Harrison Avenue. We also have two signs in the parking lot which point to the lobby. The signage on Main Street does state the office is in the rear of the property which could be missed. The shade in the room does have a visible handle on it. The cafe is seperately owned and they are open Sunday. I have never heard it referred to as the Mad Cow.

Opted for the king spa room: Room opened up to the lovely pool area that had a hammock, lounge chairs, tables...secluded and quiet. The sauna in our room was very enjoyable, and the bed comfortable. One complaint- the herd of nocturnal elephants that was staying in the room above us for one night. You may want to opt for 2nd floor room, but, I'm not sure if noise conduction like this is the norm. Loved the food at the Brown Cow Cafe, and their coffee outshines Starbucks! Convenient. Would stay here again!
