Owner description: This 1805 Bennington church is where poet Robert Frost is buried.

The church is very picturesque and typical New England church setting. A graveyard behind the church holds Robert Frost's grave. There were coins all over his grave that people left. I don't know why people throw their money away like that. Beautiful view of the mountains and landscape on the church property. The church still holds worship service on Sundays.

The church is beautiful, the staff inside is friendly. Make sure to tour the cemetery and see Robert Frosts grave.

As we entered the church two friendly ladies greeted us and showed us the church, providing interesting information about the building and its history. We then walked through the cemetery where Robert Frost is buried. There is no charge although they do appreciate donations. It is well worth a visit.

This stately early 1800s church is magnificent. It is down the hill from the Battle Monument in Bennington. The great setting makes it very photogenic on the outside. The church is open on weekday afternoons and there are helpful docents there to tell you about the church and its history. Interesting square pews.. There is a large cemetery on a hill behind the church--the most notable grave is Robert Frost and his family--there are signs directing you to his gravesite.

We got there just before the church closed, so got to take a quick look inside. The church is beautiful and well preserved. I love seeing the inside of old historic churches.
The grave yard was better then I had expected. So well taken care of, and a really pretty setting. Be sure to bring you camera! Loved seeing the grave of Robert Frost, one of my favorite poets.
