“A nice overnight stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2013

Stayed one night to break up a long drive, and was glad I chose Eddington House. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, Patti was an informative and helpful host, breakfast was good, and overall the stay was very pleasant. The inn is within a very short walk to an excellent restaurant (Pangea) (by the way: Pangea has both an upscale dining room and a more informal pub; the pub's food is outstanding and reasonably priced...plus a great beer selection). North Bennington is small and quiet, but also relaxing and charming. All in all a much better experience than a corporate chain hotel, if one needs to stay in the Bennington area for any reason. Highly recommended.

Had another most pleasant stay here in July. On all counts that count in B&Bs, the hosts--Patti & Steve--do a superb job: lovely style, attention to detail, immaculate housekeeping, comfort, & warm hospitality--all for reasonable rates. The added big bonus: a great breakfast every time! We look forward to staying again & again, & highly recommend this B&B.

Room Tip: Either of the 2 suites are excellent.

We stayed at the Eddington House for two nights and had the most enjoyable time. Patti is a terrific host. Very knowlegeable, fun to talk to and maker of one of the best breakfasts we ever had in an b+b. The house offers only three rooms and these are very nicely decorated.
North Bennington is at the border of Mass, NY and VT, so lots of attractions around, which Patti is able to give you information about. Overall: Eddington House ranks at the top of the many B+Bs we visited.

We just stayed the one night at Eddington House as we travelling around New England. The house is beautiful and our room was very comfortable. Patti was extremely welcoming and helpful. Her recommendation for our evening meal was great (Pangea) especially as it was just a short distance from the house. It was a very nice touch to have homemade snacks available. Patti was particularly helpful in advising us on what to see in Bennington before we left the area (it is a very interesting and attractive place). We would never have found the 3 covered bridges on our own. I loved the yoghurt with fresh fruit and maple syrup (I bought quite a lot of the local maple syrup to bring home to the UK). I am so glad we stayed at Eddington House and feel we made an a very good choice.

My husband and I stayed here for two days in July. We were on our honeymoon and staying here was a charm. Patti, the host, made us feel very comfortable and was very welcoming and helpful. Her baking skills are awesome! There is a lot of attention to detail an small little things like snacks all day long, truffles in the room are things we really liked. The room and bathroom were very clean and well kept. We stayed here as a part of the Relax and Unwind package and we recommend it to anyone who visits Bennington.

I couldn’t believe we were able to book just one night at a B&B during peak Fall foliage in Bennington, VT. Most lodgings here must be booked a year in advance for October stays. We were lucky in many other ways by choosing the charming Eddington Inn. We splurged on the Fair Suite as it was part of a Vermont Romance Package, and included in our welcoming gift basket was a locally made candle, chocolates and split of Champagne. Romantic beginning indeed! Although I had originally booked an expensive guided tour conducted in nearby Manchester, we cancelled that when Patti, our innkeeper, created a self-guided tour of the peak fall foliage she had personally observed in the area. She also made a dinner rez for us at the quirky and yummy restaurant Panagea Lounge just a short walk down the street. Students from nearby Bennington College filled the restaurant and bar with lively chatter and laughter. Patti was invaluable in advising us on out-of-the-way attractions such as the covered bridges, as well as the must-sees of the Old First Church and adjacent cemetery where Robert Frost is probably the most famous resident. And the full gourmet breakfast was a lovely start to the morning of active sightseeing.

Room Tip: The Fair Suite was large, comfortable and window-filled, with a separate sitting area, all cozily de...

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Eddington House last weekend – what a treat! The building is gorgeous and beautifully maintained, the wood floors are to die for (especially the diamond-patterned wood floor in the entrance!), the rooms are spacious, comfortable, beautiful to look at, and our innkeeper Patti couldn’t have been more gracious or accommodating. What a naturally warm, welcoming person she is! She is the perfect host.

Breakfasts were amazing and absolutely delicious, and Patti is as skillful a conversationalist as she is a cook – she artfully directed the conversation so that new acquaintances felt like old friends -- even before the coffee pot was emptied!

Little touches were everywhere, such as chocolate truffles in our room, and home-baked treats and citrus-infused water available all day long.

We can’t wait to return to beautiful Bennington, VT and the Eddington House! I have a feeling it is going to be a place we come “home” to over and over again on some of our frequent road trips!
