“Quiet and relaxed motel”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

We came across this motel by chance, and were we blessed? One of the best roadside motels we stayed in in three weeks. Confortable, clean quiet and welcoming. Facilities were excellent for a family owned property, a large guest room (you may not want to invite people to your room for meetings) outdoor pool. Hot bluebery muffins with a continentaal breakfast.

We have stayed here three times now so you can tell we like it here. We book an Economy Room. The room is cozy and spotless. The bathroom is small with a stall shower and the room is rather small as well but we are rarely in it as we visit friends and sightsee in the Brandon area. If you want more space, book the larger rooms. The owners, Aaron and Stacie, make you feel welcome. During the season when the pool is open it is delightful to take a morning dip while looking at the mountains and the sky. It is in a great location and we always feel safe there. The complimentary breakfast on weekends is a nice way to start the day. The other travelers we meet there are always nice and friendly. It is very convenient to pull the car right up to the door. We are looking forward to our next trip there.

Room Tip: The Economy Rooms are small so if space is a priority book a larger room. If you plan on seeing the...

Our daughter in-law booked us into this motel and we were very pleased that she did so. The room was clean; two reasonably comfortable queen beds with a desk, chair, refrigerator and coffee and tea making facilities. It was quite inexpensive and (Australian hotels; take note) they provided FREE WiFi.
Yes, that feature is becoming essential in our digital age.
Aside from that, the view across to the hills was very peaceful. The rooms are perhaps "old style" although quite common in Australia. Your car is parked in front of the room and your baggage is taken directly inside. I did find the surface of the parking lot - crushed stone, a bit difficult with a heavy wheeled suitcase. A trifling point admittedly. It did not detract from the overall stay.
A light breakfast is provided on Saturday and Sunday. Good coffee and lots of it, oatmeal, instant style but best of all, home made blueberry muffins to die for. Lots of real butter as well.
The hosts, Aaron and Stacie made us feel at home. Their two young children were welcoming as well.
My only negative comment is that the exhaust fan in our bathroom seemed excessively noisy. Perhaps it has been fixed by now.
We returned for a second visit toward the end of our stay in the area and would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: There appears to be a number of levels of accommodation. Ask AAron to have a look so that you can ch...

Great experience at the Brandon Motor Lodge, a green, family-owned motel. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean. Owners were helpful with dining suggestions and directions. Free wireless as well. A great option if you are in the area and are looking for a reasonably-priced stay.

A stay at the Brandon Motor Lodge is just plain soothing. All of the essentials are here and nothing to annoy. My room was clean (bathroom was very clean), the bed was reasonably comfortable, the lighting was good, the room (one with a king bed) came with a two seat sofa, two comfortable chairs, a round table, a long dresser and lots of space to put stuff your stuff down or away. The owner/managers (at least I think they are owner/managers) are welcoming and accomodating. OK, this is not a super deluxe property, but it doesn't pretend to be, and my five rating is based on its being a very good place to stay at an excellent value. You can spend easily spend a lot more in this area and be a lot less comfortable. Staying here may not have the enormous charm of some B&Bs, but neither does one have to get one's head around what can be some pretty eccentric lodging arrangements amidst the charm. This was my second stay here and I expect to be back next year.

We stayed in the apartment suite for two days and absolutely loved it. Cutely decorated, clean, very friendly staff! The apt/suite is giant - we had 6 people who fit easily. What a deal! The artwork was particular funny.
