The Gazebo Inn
Ranked #3 of 10 Brandon B&B and Inns
Reviewed 29 October 2012

We stayed one night during the Columbus Day weekend and were treated as guests should be. Donna, our host, clearly enjoyed sharing her stories and listening to ours. The inn was furnished very tastefully in a country inn style, and Donna prepares a hearty breakfast herself. Downtown Brandon is a five minute walk and has several eateries including the Cafe Provence, one of favorites when we are vacationing in the area. We highly recommend the Gazebo Inn for nice accommodations at a very reasonable rate.

We live in Vermont but enjoy exploring local towns and learn more about our own state. We have never had such a lovely time as we did staying at Gazebo Inn in Brandon. From the time we arrived and were greated by Donna, the innkeeper until she saw us off, everything was picture perfect. Our room was quaint and decorated with such a nice country theme. The bed was turned down when we arrived back from dinner. Donna would inquire what time we would like to come down for breakfast. In the morning we'd awaken to the smell of the most wonderful food being prepared for us. It was a feast of fresh fruit, yogurt, Vermont coffee and always a special surprise from French toast to apricot pancakes and bacon. There is a nice, little screened-in porch which could be set up to enjoy coffee and juice if so desired and a lovely area in back of the inn to walk and enjoy the Vermont setting...possibly just sit in the gazebo in the back and relax. We will definately go back on occasion to savour a relaxing weekend at Gazebo Inn and enjoy catching up with Donna. She gladly takes the time to enlighten you on wonderful places to visit, shop and explore the area . It was a wonderful getaway.

Room Tip: Corner suites are large and bright.

My friend was getting married in Brandon Vermont and suggested that I stay at the Gazebo Inn. I am very happy that I took her up on her suggestion. Brandon is a wonderful town and the Gazebo Inn is a wonderful base to enjoy it from. Donna welcomed my girlfriend and I with gingersnaps and fresh lemonade (with mint from the garden no less), which was about as fine an introduction to the beautiful and friendly town of Brandon as one could want.

Donna is a treasure: so nice and we really enjoyed speaking with her. She keeps a beautiful, clean house, but is so welcoming and understanding that there is no hint of stuffiness at all. It is a hard balance, but Donna manages it gracefully.

Our room (the Lilac room I believe) was at the top of a fun hidden stairway and was more than ample. There was a scattering of well chosen books and a huge, well stocked bathroom: let's just say we were very well taken care of in terms of amenities.

Breakfasts were an absolute treat. Donna makes delicious pancakes and french toast, which can be either taken around the dining room table or out on the porch looking into the Inn's well kept gardens. Just the right start to any day.

I cannot speak highly enough of the Gazebo Inn and would definitely be back to stay with Donna on the next time I make it up to Brandon.

Every summer I spend two weeks taking classes at the Country Owl in Brandon, VT. With the exception of the first year, I always stay at the Gazebo Inn, in Brandon, VT. It is close to the downtown area and there are many pleasant walks one can take. Donna, the Hostess, has the experience one looks for at a B&B and she has a special ability of dealing with all situations and needs with a pleasant attitude. Her knowledge of the town and surrounding area is very helpful when one is planning side trips or destinations. The breakfasts are premier and not to be missed. It is a true New Enland meal! Sparkling conversations with Donna can be expected. The rooms and grounds are welcoming and give you an "at home" feeling. I think the special touches that Donna puts into every guest make it an outstanding experience.

Room Tip: The bathrooms are much more than the average in most B&Bs. Also the old-fashioned games in the...

We had never stayed in a B&B prior to our last minute planned weekend away. Donna, the inn keeper was so kind and fun. She greeted us on arrival with homemade goodies and a cool drink. She had made our dinner reservations and arranged everything. She really thinks about the extras. There was also an antique chair in our room that was so comfortable I will be forever searching antique places for its replica. Donna prepared us a delicious breakfast of fruit, greek yogurt, and fresh baked blueberry muffins followed by peach, ginger pancakes and bacon. The company of the other guests was enjoyable and Donna herself is a wealth of knowledge of the area. When our stay was over she packed us little treats for the ride home.

Lovely bed and breakfast in the heart of Brandon. Quick walk to town. Beautiful, comfortable rooms, with a wonderful hostess! Was greeting warmly with great hors d'oeuvres and a refreshing drink. Breakfast and coffee were delicious! Easy commute to Rutland and Middlebury. Hope business brings me back to central Vermont again soon!

Donna is amazing. Gazebo Inn is family friendly to the max. She didn't hesitate to welcome us with our 6 month old. She set up the pack n play with tons of extra linens and set up the highchair which matches everything in the place. Breakfast was the best in VT and anywhere else I've been in a while. We had Cafe Provence on the screened in patio in the evening and it was quiet and enjoyable. The garden is modest and well maintained. The room was comfortable and more than what we needed. Donna pays attention to things you normally wouldn't notice but do because she goes out of her way for you.

Don't pass up seconds on the: coffee, applesauce cake, pumpkin cake, apricot pancakes.

And..if you are a baby try bananas for the first time and don't worry about making a mess.

Room Tip: Trust Donna she will put you where you fit best.
