“No Excuse for Mediocre Fast Food When the Black Bear is Available!”
Reviewed 20 August 2012

Just off the first Vermont Exit #1 of I-91 is an incredible food cart which serves locally-produced, organically-grown meats and veggies. I recommend the chili, hot-dogs, pulled-pork and and Cuban sandwiches, all of which I've enjoyed, as well as the maple-cremies and the "Coca-Colas de Mejico," (in imported glass coke bottles--err, guess that's not local), natural lemonaide, raspberry soda, etc. etc. The owner's farm is close by, in Guilford, VT, where many of his products are produced. He's incredibly friendly and, reflecting the quality of both products and services, his business is continues to grow. Besides new items on the menu, he's added several picnic-tables, now covered by a canvas shelter. A great place for an informal, but healthy lunch, on your way north. Less than a minute off I-91.

“Great Tasting Local Food!”
Reviewed 19 August 2012

We visited the stand twice the day we visited Brattleboro. The Hot dogs were so good that my family had to come back for dinner after kayaking. The hotdogs were the best I have ever tasted and my kids were hooked! The icecream was fabulous too! I bought 3 gallons of syrup to take home for the year. Great service and food.

“Perfect roadside lunch or supper”
Reviewed 7 August 2012

Just 10 seconds off I-91. The food is crafted with love and served with a smile. There are picnic tables under a tent, and restrooms available at the adjacent outlet mall (which is actually way nicer inside than it looks). Amazing, rich, grade B maple syrup available to buy as gifts for all your friends...

The owner said he's generally there every day from 11:00 - 7:00 (later weekend nights) in season.

“Great spot for locals & travelers”
Reviewed 15 July 2012 via mobile

Had a good pulled pork sandwich, Mexican coke (made with sugar, not hi-fructose corn syrup), and a maple soft serve ice cream. All excellent and, except for the coke, locally made. Maple syrup from their farm is available too! Get there before the outdoor cart season's over!

“Best Fast Food in New England”
Reviewed 13 July 2012

Coming home from vacation in northern Vermont we stopped by this little "hotdog" stand for a quick bite. Right off exit 1 off of Interstate 91 it is a real gem. The grass fed beef hotdog served on a locally baked hot dog bun was the best I have ever eaten. The grilled cheese was just as fabulous with Vermont made cheese and homegrown tomatoes. The lemonade is fresh. Even more heavenly is the Maple Creamy. Soft serve ice cream packed with maple goodness. I even bought 2 quarts of their maple syrup. This place is quintessential Vermont experience that's convenient and affordable.
