“Delicious Deli to Go”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2014

We picked up great freshly made sandwiches and popped across the river to a marina to eat riverside on some picnic tables. The sandwiches were tasty and made with good ingredients and not overstuffed, better than thick layers of tasteless cold-cuts.

“Adorable and Delicious”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2014

Read a few recommendations and put this on our list to stop by. First of all it is adorable inside and they have so many great dishes, pastries, wines, jams, sauces..it is crazy. I wish the had a place to sit and have lunch or a snack. Unfortunately, it is all to go. We just looked around and grabbed dessert but it was delicious. If I lived nearby or was looking for a place to grab a great picnic this would be it.

“I'd take a detour to hit this place up for a great stop on the road”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2014

After the long drive from home to VT we got off the highway in Brattleboro and there to greet us was the famous VT Country Deli. Heard a lot about this place and how great it is and sure as heck, the raters were on the dime. Many selections, home prepared and cooked - everything from soup to nuts - literally. And the deserts are to die for . . . You have to stop for that on the road break with great food, wonderful country shop atmosphere and something for everyone. We had the home made bread and build your own sandwich makings, selected our beverage and of course, went with the large cookies. We went vegetarian, although the meats were tempting. I had to exercise will power to keep myself from going overboard on additional items. I can't say enough good things about VT Country Deli as you won't find a better stop on the road than this place - anywhere. A good value too for the money spent. The title of the review says it all. Yes, I would detour to hit this place up again.

“Farm fresh+homemade=Amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2014 via mobile

Vermont country deli was a happy coincidence since we had headed to Brattleboro to check out a Mexican restaurant in town. At first glance it looks no different than the dozens of other roadside general stores/sandwich shops that Vermont has to offer, wrong. The first thing you see when you enter are pizza sized, homemade cookies and you sort of know "This place is going to be awesome!"
My husband and I are huge farm to table enthusiasts so we were thrilled to see that the majority of foods there were organic, homemade, or locally sourced. Not only do they have a million sandwich choices but hot foods as well, ranging from maple BBQ pulled pork to vegetable curry. We found it tough to decide so bought enough food to feed a small army. After we bagged up our seemingly ridiculous lunch portions we turned our attention to the massive dessert counter featuring at least 50 different types of sweets from chocolates and pies to cannoli and fudge. We even picked up some goodies for friends in the little general store area. We'd literally drive 2 hours again just for the food. Beautiful area, great people, amazing food!
TIP: Mac and Cheese, yes and more yes.
