We have just returned from our first visit to the USA. Our trip had a three week itinerary which included a one night stop over somewhere in Vermont. Bratttleboro was the chosen place becuase it sat well on our Rand McNally map book of the USA. we arrived in the evening and easily found the hotel. First impressions were good, the hotel looked modern, clean and airy and the staff were effficient and friendly. The good thing about holiday inns is that you can always be sure of what you are getting as the corporate image/standard is similar the world over in such places. The Brattleboro branch was the\same, i.e clean, well equipped comfortable room.

Unfortunatly Brattleboro seems to have few attractions to tempt the weary traveller and we struggled to find somewhere to eat that evening. No fault of the holiday inn.

The only issue that does need fixing is the breakfast. It had a close resemblance to feeding time at the zoo or a chimps tea party. The breakfast is a help yourself operation with a fairly well stocked breakfast bar. Problem is that the bar is too small, there are too many people trying to get to it and the dining area is too small. Also the plates are paper and the cutlery is plastic. The result was a big free for all with food and diners scattered hither and thither !

We did our best with the breakfast and moved on to the Cape Cod and the sumptuous luxury of Baileys by the Sea-but you can read our other review on that establishment.

We were traveling from Niagara Falls to Bangor, Maine and it was getting late and we needed to find a place to stay. We happened upon this nice little gem from our Traveler's Guide Coupon Book. When we first got there right away the front desk staff was wonderful. They were very helpful in directions and opinions. This is a pretty new hotel and everything still looked very well kept. The room was very clean and very comfortable. I always have tended to like the Holiday Inn Express chain and this one was actually the best one I have every stayed at. It was very quiet and the breakfast was a delight. This would be a great hotel to stay in for ski season, it is close to ski slopes and plenty of restaurants. I would recommend it for any traveler.

I recently had to make an overnight trip to NH for a wedding and picked this hotel based on the reviews on this website. The hotel was as advertised: clean, reasonably priced, and with a friendly staff.

We arrived 2 hours prior to the wedding and the hotel allowed us an early check in (nearly 4 hours early!) to get changed into our formal clothing. It sure beats trying to put on a suit in the backseat of a cramped dodge neon! We attended the wedding and upon our return we found a table in the lobby full of hot apple cider and apple donuts and cinnamon donuts! After settling in, we went down to the pool area and enjoyed the heated pool and hottub (which is open until 11pm which is an hour or two later then average hotels). The pool was clean and maybe a little TOO warm at 88 degrees, and the hottub was at a steady 104 degrees (a little too warm for my liking) but once you were in it was relaxing none the less.

The hotel is set back off a somewhat main street that has alot of different grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations. It is a perfect location with everything located within a short drive, or even a reasonable walking distance. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will stay again if in the area.

My husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Brattleboro in July 2006 for 3 nights. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Our room was spacious, very clean, and very quiet! And I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast every morning. All in all, this is a great hotel and a great vaue. I will stay here again when I return to Brattleboro!

We stayed for two days at this Holiday Inn and we never had any major issues. Our room, which has 2 queen size beds and a pull out sofa is an average sized room compared to any of the 4-5 star hotels. The room (classified as a suite) is clean and well kept, a small fridge, small microwave oven, tiny coffeemaker and kitchen utensils like fork, knives, etc. plus disposable plates and bowls. They assigned us a room that was next to I-91 but never heard any noise from the highway at night. The free continental breakfast consisted of a typical 3 star hotel servings, bagels, muffins, cinnamon rolls, cereals, oatmeal (although they ran out on the 2nd day...my daughter had to switch to muffins, which is fine with her....) plus juices and coffee. It was well stocked and properly maintained by one person. There are alot of great restaurants within 1 mi. radius and a few more at "downtown" Brattleboro which is 2-3 mi further south of Rt. 5. We will come back to stay at the hotel...and perhaps try one fancy Italian restaurant that we heard is awesome, just across the road.

I planned my wedding in Vermont from Memphis last year, and called the Holiday Inn on a recommendation from a friend. Extremely friendly personnel who set up 20 guest rooms at a great rate for my guests! They even gave me a room the night before the wedding with a King size bed and jacuzzi tub for the same price as a regular room. I slept wonderfully.

My wedding guests were very pleased with the rooms. Very clean, comfortable beds, and decent size. Great free hot breakfast in the morning. Good pool area witih hot tub. The "gym" is small, but good equipment and good hours, right next to the pool area, so we ran on the treadmill, then jumped in the pool.

The hotel is situated in a great area. An easy jump onto I-91. Easy drive into downtown, (Main Street) to sample a few great restaurants, see a movie, or see a band. Great bands at the Moles Eye Cafe. Had a wonderful brunch at the Marina restaurant while waiting to cruise on the riverboat tour of the Connecticut River. (highly recommended) The Marina has great views of the water. Boats going in and out - very pleasant outdoor area with good food and decent wine list.

Brattleboro area also has some outstanding hiking spots! Ask at the hotel for directions. Good 1/2 day or full day hikes. Some easy 1/2 day drives as well to Yankee Candle Factory, Ski resorts (complete with geat golf courses), and lots of scenery! My guests also drove up to Ben &: Jerrys, Stowe Von Trapp Family Lodge, and Cabot Creamery in a day jaunt.

All in all, a great time was had by all, and a comfortable, clean, good hotel.

The hotel is nice. Breakfast is nice, however, understaffed, never enough omelets and bacon. Tables are dirty, as there is one women trying to run the show. One day our room was not made, we put card on door to change sheets, they said the card may have been mistaken for a privacy. Hard to believe bright yellow card. Bigest complaint we prepaid with TRAVOLOCITY (Huge mistake never do it, if you want to check out early you can, however, you get no refund are very little refund. Also, hotel avertised gym, two machines, both not in working order. For the 4 days they were not repaired. The staff is pleasant, the clerk tried to rectify unmade room at 7pm by giving clean towels and making beds, but no clean sheets. Pool is nice, kids had fun. No clean sheets again! The entire 3 night stay. The area is not very modern, with poor selection of restaurants. Manchester at least a hour drive. Keene NH, 2o min. drive is a nice town, if you like more franchise names in restaurants and hotels this is the place. Small ski resort called Granite Gorge, Fantastic place for young kids, not fancy not to big and reasonably priced. Very accomendating and staff, possibly family owned.
