Motel 6 Brattleboro
Ranked #8 of 10 Hotels in Brattleboro
Reviewed 18 December 2013

This was an unexpected one night stay and the last one for this motel.

The room had an awful odor and I had to ask for another room. The place in general felt run down. The rooms were barely livable and I was extremely afraid of bedbugs although on quick inspection I didnt immediately see any..

The rate was ok at $49.00 but should have been much lower for this quality of room.

I won't go back,

The rooms were nicer than any other Motel 6 I have stayed at. With modern multi-colored painted wall, coordinated bedspreads and best of all the floors had no carpeting. Laminate wood floors in a hotel room? I found this to be a plus.
Very pet friendly as we brought our dog and saw multiple other while we were there. The hotel was full to capacity. I find this hotel to be a perfect budget overnight accommodation.
The room was advertised as non-smoking. It was obvious that there had been smoking in the room. What I don't understand is; If they advertise it as a non-smoking room why do they furnish ashtrays?
The price was more than what we normally have paid at a Motel 6, but my there were a lot of events taking place in the area that inflated the price

Room Tip: Area is quiet and in a convenient location

First off they left the light on for me, i always call head here, it sells out for a reason. This isn't the ritz, but it clean, the beds, the tub, i'm only here to sleep. The money i save goes right to my stomach, i can walk up to the Panda House, tomorrow morning i will eat a huge breakfest at the royal diner, or maybe i will buy some chocalates at Tom & Sally's, its fantastic, homemade. You may meet a famous comic from shelburne falls!..lol. You can go East-South-North-West from here. Keene is just over the hill, Greenfield -Deerfield Mass is 25 min drive, south, great location .

ps, if you can sleep close to highway, good for you, i choose the opposite end.

So I was struggling between giving this place 2 and 3 stars, decided to go with 3 as it was fairly clean, updated and cheap.
After 6 hours in the car, we pull up the Motel 6 Brattleboro around 9pm and there were some shady characters hanging in and around the cars in the parking lot, they continued to go in and out of the parking lot and a couple of the rooms in particular, most of the night. The lady at the front desk wasn't the most friendly person in the world but she did the job.
The walls must be made out of cardboard as i could hear everything going on in the rooms on either side of me.
All in all, I would probably look at trying a different place next time I have a need to stay in the area.

What can you say about low budget over the road type hotels? Obviously they do serve ahuge need. This one does the trick. Inexpensive clean and out you go! Bathroom was fresh, beds were solid and comfortable.

It cracks me up to read reviews from people who are expecting to pay $45/night and yet have all the amenities of a $150-200/night property. This is a clean, renovated Motel 6. Period. The property has been recently renovated and is perfectly fine for a Motel 6. Yes, you have to pay for Wifi. Shampoo, hair driers, in-room safe, in-room coffee, free HBO/Cinemax, vibrating beds (ha), or 1000 thread-count sheets are not included in the rate. Yes, there is free coffee in the lobby, but why drink that when you can get a much better coffee at McD for 99c just 500m south on Rt 5?

It is basic, clean accommodation; Somewhere to sleep when the weather turns bad and you don't want to drive up Interstate 91 in the dark, in the rain, or in the fog (none of which are recommended). I-91 is poorly lit, sparsely patrolled, and is best driven in the day.

If you stay here, I do recommend that you get a room on the "East" side of the property closest to US 5. The reviewer below who was talking about the diesel trucks running all night was correct. Truckers park their trucks at the back of the property (the west side) and keep them idling all night. The rooms are not perfectly sound-proof, but again this isn't the Marriott. Just turn up the A/C and you won't hear them.

Room Tip: Get a room close to US 5.
