Description: An 1842 era farmhouse on a beautiful lake next to the famous Floating Bridge provides a romantic and pastoral atmosphere for one of the best meals you've ever had. Chef Lee Duberman and Sommelier Richard Fink have been running Ariel's since 1997, serving beautiful and creative cuisine from the most local and seasonal of Vt. Products. Open for dinner only, Wednesday through Sunday, late April through October.

Went here for our anniversary and found the food to be outstanding. Richard not only bakes the bread in the outside wood fired oven, but also really knows his wine and gets the highest quality at a reasonable price. Sells nothing he would not drink himself. Lee works magic in a very small kitchen and produces small, medium, and large plates that are really delicious. Her small plate crab cake had the best crab meat she could find with just a hint of herbs surrounded with a crispy 'birds nest' filo crust. Best crab cake I have ever had. I could go on and on but the menu changes with the availability of produce so you may not find all the menu items. The table next to us with four people ordered six deserts so they could all try some of each offered. We will be driving the hour and fifteen minutes from our home to Brookfield again and telling all our friends and family about the experience we had. The place is small and you should have reservations.

We are lucky enough to live 15 minutes away from Lee and Richard's restaurant, and I guess you could call us regulars. The restaurant sits on Sunset Lake, adjacent to the (barely) Floating Bridge. It's a beautiful setting in an old house, and when you come in the door it's likely Richard will be there to greet you, while Lee will be a few feet behind in the kitchen.
Lee is an amazingly talented, incredibly creative and consistent chef. Technique, dead on, is nice, but what makes Ariel's a place we never get tired of is the care and inspiration both Lee and Richard put into the experience on all levels. I recommend a quick visit to their website to get a feel for the menu.
You're likely to meet Everett the cat outside, giving you the onceover before you come in.

total farm to table and foraged in the wild food. The dishes are very interesting and and it is hard to decide what to have, this goes for the appetizers and desert also. Great wines at many price levels and competent help in selecting the right one. House infused spirits from the bar. We go here for any special occasion that we have and would go more often if it were a bit closer. Always new choices on the menu with a seasonal emphasis.

Located next to the famed "Floating Bridge" in bucolic Brookfield VT is an ancient home now host to an amazing restaurant. We had fried Brussels sprouts in a Thai vinaigrette sauce, swordfish, and a beef tenderloin all as good as can be. The owner's skills in the bar made for some delicious drinks from his own infusion alcohols. Try his home made limoncello!

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Ariel's. Excellent food - the paella was fabulous as was the lamb (very tender, no sharp knife required). Great handcrafted cocktails, delicious homemade breads and great dessert choices too! The homemade ice creams and the strawberry crumble are perfect endings. The prices were reasonable and not out of line with what we expected to pay in a more upscale setting. Lovely wine selection and great service too! Be sure to call ahead for reservations as they book up quickly.
We would highly recommend and would definitely return next time we are in the area!
