“Nice Place”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

Stayed here as a timeshare swap through Interval International. Resort itself is great, staff friendly, restaurant is good, movies for the kids every night. Unit (2BDRM) completely furnished w/kitchen. Well maintained property. Only drawback is the resort is located at the base of Ascutney Mountain Ski Resort which has been closed for close to 2 years, so not much to do On-Site. Was great for a short week getaway with family. Lots of relaxing. Would certainly recommend to others who would like to get away with little pressure to do more than relax.

Room Tip: Lower rooms easy on back with luggage. No elevator.

Heather and the Staff were amazing. They are friendly, professional and extremely helpful. We stayed in one of the 3 Bedroom units. We had plenty of room for 3 adult couples and one child. The entire resort is maintained beautifully. There is so much to do right on property if the weather isn't perfect.
Brownsville is a charming Vermont town, The post office, General Store, and Library are all within walking distance.
If you like to hike, swim, sightsee or just relax this is the resort for you. They have plenty of activities for all ages.

Room Tip: The 3 bedroom unit was incredible, bright, cheery and ample bathrooms. Tastefully decorated and well...

I was traveling on business and had a less than pleasant attempt at making a reservation in Lebanon, NH, I refused to stay there. The next option was 20 minutes further but boy was it worth it! This was once a ski area but now is a ski area lees the skiing. The hotel is a timeshare, but open to the public when rooms are available. I stay at hotels almost half the year, so I expected the normal run of the mill Holiday Inn...Wrong! I was shocked to see the amazing room I received. Full kitchen (with granite counters), full living room with fireplace and dining area, an actual separate bedroom and nice bathroom.

They had a restaurant in house, the food was great but I really wish they provided room service (I really wanted to get comfy while waiting for my dinner but only had PJ's and I wasn't going to walk into the halls like that).

I received a great nights sleep and wouldn't hesitate coming back, even with the further drive. It was totally worth it.

I know this is a resort/timeshare but this is something I would highly recommend for business travel. It's like hitting the reset button, and was refreshing finding something out of the ordinary, when comparing to other std hotels.

Stayed 3/18 and 3/19. Looking for hotel off the beaten path? This may be for you. It is about five miles off the freeway on the side of a mountain. The access road is rough and pothole filled. You have to have a good idea where you're going to find the place. It snowed about a foot while we were there so traveling to/from the resort was a bit of a challenge. If you expect to go to a local restaurant or store, it is quite an adventure as there is absolutely nothing near the hotel.

It is located at the former Ascutney Ski Area which has been closed for the past two years. Thus, there is very little to do at the resort other than look at the mountain and enjoy the peace and quiet... which is not a bad thing.

Check in was efficient. We were told the water supply was contaminated and we should not drink the water although it was ok for showers. This situation was cleared on our second night, but caused a lot of concern when it came to anything associated with the hotel's water.

Our room however was FANTASTIC. We were upgraded to a suite with a king bedroom, a queen bedroom, full kitchen with all full size appliances, dining room, living room, two bathrooms, a fireplace, balcony and TVs in each room... We loved the room which made other issues seem minor.

Since there was no choice on where to eat our first night there, we ate in the resort restaurant. At prime time we found ourselves to be the only couple in the restaurant, although one other couple came in later. The hostess was friendly and efficient. The menu was limited and pricey. My burger was $12 and wife's medium sized pizza was $19. Neither were very good. They did serve beers, but my wife decided the contaminated water issue did not make her ice tea appealing. The next day we ate off site which we feel was a good decision.

Bottom line, the room was spectacular, location sucked and the contaminated water issue made our stay a bummer. It's likely you won't experience the same concerns we had.

Room Tip: All rooms are awesome.. You won't be disappointed with the room, but other issues may be more of...

My family and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Club at Ascutney March 9-15, 2014. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo in the main building. The rooms were large and comfortable. We used the tubing equipment on several occasions and also went to the fitness center. All the staff were friendly and helpful with suggestions on things to do in the area. The hotel has a tavern and small shop for food and other supplies. I found both to be overpriced. The real gem for food is the Brownsville General Store about one mile away on 44W. Food was delicious and priced well. We ate there several times. We would travel here again.

Husband and I went for a long weekend 2/20-2/23. The first impression was not a good one. The checkin building was ok but the building we stayed in was Bennington and the first thing the door to go in was broken. Then we went to our unit 2421 it was on the second floor and when you walk into the one bedroom standard unit it had a stale smell. Then upon inspection the dish washer was still loaded with last guest dishes. Called front desk they said sorry but said to re run washer to be sure cleaned. Then the couch in the living room smelled like dirty body. Once I bought febreeze and sprayed it was better. Then the bed room the beds need to be replace and were so low to ground. Now with that said about room. Went to pool and fitness building and the equipment was old and needing replacement. The pool looked to need a good scrubbing. All in all not really pleased with this place compared to orange lake in Orlando, fl. One good thing about this stay is meeting the nicest worker Richard. He was so nice. But he couldn't make the rest of the stay better. But a great dinner was in town and they had the best pancakes ever Windsor dinner and we also ate at browns tavern and they don't offer a owners discount. There is also a breakfast at the main building all you can eat breakfast for 5.99 each adult from 7a-10a. I didn't try it but wanted to provide info. They also said that they were going to be having a 3 million dollar over haul so maybe that will help. The town of Woodstock was good for local art and the town of Quechee was nice at the Antique mall. The toy museum was so nice. Any question please feel free to message me.
