Lake Champlain is a true treasure of New England. A wonderful way to experience some of it's beauty is by boat. The sailing vessel 'Friend Ship' is a beautiful ship piloted by Captain Glenn Findholt, an experienced Captain, a man of many talents and many more stories! Captain Glenn and his crew will make every effotrt to keep you both comfortable and entertained while sailing around the lake. On our sail today, we were blessed with warm, calm weather and a magnificent sunset - ordered up, of course, by Captain Glenn! This is our first time experiencing Lake Champlain, and would recommend a sail on the 'Friend Ship' to everyone, as this is a safe and fun experience.

We just got done doing the sunset two hour cruise on the Friend Ship. It was a gorgeous perfect evening in Burlington and the lake was amazing. The boat is small but comfortable, the captain and first mate friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable. The star of the show is beautiful lake Champlain. This is a small boat and you are close to the water, you smell the breeze, and you can sit forward near the jib and just take it all in. First mate Chris is a font of information about lake and Burlington history, geography, etc. As the sun set over the Adirondacks we also had a stunning view of Burlington itself illuminated by a full moon. Wow!!"

We go every year, and it is always fun. This year we had perfect sailing weather. Not too hot, and a nice breeze.

Friend Ship Sail
The best experience we had in Burlington. Make a reservation as soon as you get to Burlington or even before if you can. Although at first blush it seems more expensive @ $35 per head than the commercial boats it isn’t. First you can bring you own food ( we didn’t but will next time) and you get more information about the lake. Since it is more intimate and can ask questions of Capt Glen and mate Sherm. Between the two they had all the answers. It was so relaxing and maybe we enjoyed it because it was our first sailing experience. Definitely this is a do again. It was a full two hour sail. You came away not only get the prepackaged info from the cruise type ship but also local take on events. A 2 hour pleasant excursion as well as two hours of good resources of additional information and local flavor.

Weather permitting don’t miss this if you go to Burlington.

Every summer our Parrot Head group enjoys a sunset Cruise with Captain Glen and crew. It's a can't miss event for us and a highlight of summer in Vermont! The Captain and Crew are top notch and the vessel is absolutely gorgeous. Can't think of a better way to spend and evening in Burlington!
