My husband and I were visiting Burlington for the weekend. When we checked into the hotel we asked the concierge for his opinion of this restaurant. I had already made a reservation but was curious to get a local's opinion. He noted that it was hit or miss but we decided to keep the reservation anyway since the menu looked good. Boy, what a mistake. The hostess warmly greeted us but then it went downhill from there.
We were seated at a two person table at the back of the restaurant near the bathrooms and the waitstaff station. Not the best spot, but it happens and we didn't protest. The problem was that we could hear everything the waitstaff was saying and some of it was not appropriate. The manager would also hang back there at different times and he was also inappropriate. Maybe ten minutes into our time some of the lights on either wall overheated and they needed to shut them off. I sat with one spotlight in my eyes for a good part of the evening.
My husband ordered the tuna steak and it was a terrible piece that he didn't finish. We had to stop and ask different staff members for utensils, condiments, etc. because our waitress was gone for long periods at a time. We sat for maybe 20 minutes after finishing our meals before anyone came by to see if we were done and then waited maybe another several minutes before our waitress came by to see if we wanted anything else. She was very friendly but seemed very disinterested in us.
I wouldn't have minded the lag time so much except the manager kept stopping at the table next to us (at least three of four times) to check on this couple and never once glanced at us. I don't think he did a great job of circulating. Instead he focused his time on one or two tables of folks who appeared to be regulars. We definitely felt like because we were out-of-towners we were not as valuable a customer to them.
Overall it was not a positive experience and I would not recommend this place to people especially when there are so many other good places in the area.
