“A Great Burger. And Great Whiskeys.”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

So if you are a whiskey fan, this is the place to be. There are literally hundreds of different whiskeys on the menu -- and the bartenders are knowledgeable enough to talk you through what you're looking at.

The burger I ate was the real star of the show, though. It was amazing. Some kind of special relish on it that was memorable times ten.

Now, I think it came from the Ri Ra around the corner, but I didn't care. The food was great.

The atmosphere is neat too. A young, trendy vibe in the entire joint.

“Great ambiance, drinks, and cheese!”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

This place reminded me of a cool English pub you'd find in the city. Swanky, but not intimidating. Cocktails were good, but I loved the cheese even more!

“Not just whiskey....”
Reviewed 28 August 2013

We were curious so we stopped in and we are so glad that we did. Not whiskey drinkers, but believe me when I tell you that this is a whiskey paradise. They had a wonderful selection of beers/craft and otherwise, not to mention the ever famous Heddy Topper, which is very difficult to find at times. Our server was fantastic, very friendly, and she even remembered us from the previous night when we decided to stop in again for another drink. We didn't eat dinner but we did sample some cheeses from their wonderful cheese/meats menu and the cheese plate was delicious. Great bar and was probably our favorite place to sit and have a drink in Burlington.

“No Shortage of Whiskey Here”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

We did not dine at Whiskey Room, but instead came in late night for drinks. They have a wide variety of whiskey drinks sprawled across four chalkboards. It is nice they describe what is in each one We had a White Whiskey Punch that includes moonshine, and a friend had hibiscus whiskey that was also good. The glasses were large and the drinks range from $9-$25. We had a very funny bartender "Ger" who is a native to Limerick, Ireland and is quite the entertainer. Even decided to top off our drinks when his manager left! All-in-all a pretty good time and not too pricey for how much you get. They seemed to have had some regulars in, and everyone was enjoying themselves low-key.

“Very pleasant upscale pub -- excellent microbrew choices”
Reviewed 18 August 2013

We stumbled on the Whiskey Room during a weekend visit to Burlington with family. Frankly, we ended up sitting down for dinner there because the wait was so long at several other Church Street options including the attached RiRa Irish Pub were so long. The people waiting outside the other restaurants don't know what they're missing. The Whiskey Room is the real deal.

The interior is pure upscale pub, with dark paneling and dim white lighting, almost managing a smoky haze even though I am sure it has been years since anyone smoked there. We took a seat at a shared high top table and were quickly greeted by our server, a pleasant, attentive young woman who checked back often. The Whiskey Room is a fairly small space and the late evening crowd was convivial, though the noise level was such that we could have a conversation and not shout across the table. As we were out for the evening with our two teens (16 and 13), having the ability to chat but enough buzz to cover lulls was just about perfect.

The Whiskey Bar of course has an extensive menu of whiskey selections, none of which I felt comfortable sampling knowing I had to drive back to our hotel. It also had several chalkboard menus with inventive artisan cocktails, including a couple killer martinis... I ended up opting for a local microbrew from Rock Art Brewery. Their Farmer's Simcoe IPA was truly a wonder, with just the right hop balance and a floral, almost fruity top note. My wife tried a pear Bellini cocktail, which she enjoyed but felt wasn't very Bellini-like in its textures or presentation. The kids opted for soft drinks, including a "real" root beer bottled by Saranac Brewery.

And the food... A good selection of gastropub fare including an excellent burger... Very well prepared patty with a sweet-tart onion relish, a slab of Irish bacon, and a fried egg. It really worked.

We really enjoyed our evening visit to the Whiskey Room and would happily go back and bring a designated driver to permit broader exploration of the cocktail menu, which was very tempting. Great pub experience that left us wanting more.
