“The Ultimate Inn”
Reviewed 21 October 2013

This is the Inn that ruined all other hotels, inns, and B&B's for me, it was that good!
Stayed here in the smallest room for our honeymoon and were astounded by the top-notch service and cozy amenities. Linda & the rest of the staff were so warm and welcoming, they even brought sangria and local beer (Heady Topper!) up to our room when we arrived! The room had a great chalkboard wall, stocked mini fridge, and comfy bed. We loved all of the little extra details - matching robes & slippers, little electric tealights, cozy throw blankets, guitars and record players, board games etc.
The bathrooms are down the hall but private (you have your own bathroom with key), and were super clean and friendly!
The rest of the inn is packed with fun eclectic decor, lots of cool books and vintage games to browse through while snacking on some cookies and tea or coffee (available all day).
Breakfast was hands-down the best breakfast I've had at a B&B. Each meal started off with some fresh-squeezed orange juice. The menu changed daily, but always included tasty maple bacon and country potatoes. I had the best crepes of my life here - maple marscapone with caramelized bananas and apples. Wow.
We will definitely be coming back, and I've already recommended this inn to all of my friends planning trips to VT.

Green Features: Loved the eco-friendly toiletries in the bathrooms!

Charming B&B in great location. Wonderful quirky decor with all sorts of things to look at--old games, lots of books, dvds, musical instruments. Helpful owner and staff with recommendations for local good times. Very comfortable room with luscious face fur throw you'll want to take with you--but don't. Some rooms larger than others. Didn't get a chance to try the hot tub but it looked great.

My husband and I were on a weekend getaway, no reservations....we happened to see this great B&B. Linda, the owner was wonderful offering us drinks as we waited to see if a room was available.
We ended up in the room on the 1st floor, with it's own private bathroom and shower. The room was great, huge windows to let in the fresh air, funky decor, snacks in the fridge in the room. Like all the other reviews, the breakfast was excellent made with fresh produce from Vermont.
Would definitely recommend it and hopefully return one day

We visited Burlington during the jazz festival in April. It was important to us to be within walking distance of both downtown and the UVM campus. This B&B seemed to meet those needs, so we booked a room. We were charmed throughout our stay. We were able to walk all around Burlington, and come back to a quiet, cozy retreat. The location is quiet at night with little traffic noise. The room was pleasant and the bed was comfy. There is a hot tub (and robes) for your use. The breakfasts were freshly prepared every day and varied daily as well. Linda went out of her way to ensure that we were comfortable, gave us lots of info on local spots and restaurants, and even tips about the area surrounding Burlington. I would definitely recommend the INN as a comfortable and convenient stop in Burlington...and I would wager that you will love the breakfasts.

As it is evident from other reviews this is no ordinary B&B. It's located in an old mansion within walking distance to the town center. Ths outside of the house has hardly changed since it was built but the inside is a different story. The decor is very unique and may not suit everbody's taste but it reflects the personality of the owner Linda and you really get to like it. There are lots of books, boardgames, dvd movies and even LP's that you may use. Somehow Linda manages to talk to everybody at breakfast. She has a great sense of humor and makes sure that you have a great time. We found Burlington a very laid-back and pleasant town and the Made Inn is a perfect match with the town.

This gorgeous period home has been lovingly turned into a charming B+B by designer and host extraordinaire Linda.
The house was crammed full of interesting knick knacks such as a working guitar amplifier – OK we did need to move some of the décor to make space in our. The room was totally comfortable and the bed super-soft.
There were complimentary juices on arrival which we enjoyed up in the tower (widow walk) watching the sun set. Free snacks, tea and coffee were available 24/7. The hot tub was great after a day of sightseeing and Linda insisted we use it. Plus there were books and games in the cosy lounge. Linda was full of good advice on where to eat – and there’s plenty of great variety at bargain prices a short walk into town. In other words, this was a real B+B where guests were encouraged to make themselves at home, enjoy the whole property and relax.
The breakfasts changed every morning – we stayed 3 nights – the pic shows day 3 - this time Vermont French Toast - brioche topped with fresh housemade raspberry sauce made by chef Jana– but the star of the whole show – the outrageous, extrovert hostess with the mostest – Linda was camera-shy. We’d love to return.

Travelled as a (mature age Australian) couple for five weeks around East Coast USA. Generally did not book ahead, prefer to have freedom to linger as we please, and to actually see the room before we commit. Have travelled this way many times before in USA and Europe. Stayed at a variety of hotels and B+Bs from 3 to 5 star. In busy areas (Quebec City, NYC) we booked in advance from Tripadviser reviews or similar websites.

Linda, the owner, was absolutely attentive to details and very friendly. You will not find any other place Vermont or otherwise that has the awesome style, comfort and experience that this place has. The view from some of the rooms is awesome, so is the food...and I've never slept better during my travels...or maybe even at home.

Room Tip: Room 905 is big and the bed is comfortable. I haven't tried 904 but I hear that one is awesome t...
