Description: Sweetwaters is an American Bistro with an unique twist on your favorite eats. For over 30 years, we've been serving fantastic cuisine with local ingredients in a family-friendly atmosphere in the heart of Burlington, on the corner of College and Church Streets on the charming Church Street Marketplace. Architecturally interesting, Sweetwaters is housed in what was the original site of the Burlington Trust Company. Built in the 1880s, the building retains its original mouldings, cornerstone, clock and architectural appointments. With a full bar, extensive menu, unique interior, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, Sweetwaters certainly has something for everybody. We serve lunch and dinner daily, with a late night menu for all you night owls out there.

Really a very possible visit!
Great selection of local beers gave an opportunity to get to know the Vermont beer scene, which is pretty good.
Food more than held its own and the service was very good as well.

Church street area is busy and we didn’t book. The wait here was only 10 minutes so we went for it. It was nice to sit outside, European style without the (European) smoking habits. The food was well cooked, very pleasant and my go to dessert in Vermont of maple creme brûlée was very tasty.

My group of 5 dined here at Sweetwater's on a Monday night. It was very good. We had steak, salmon with pork belly and pountine dish was okay. The guys thought it would be better. Overall good food and location on church street.

We were thoroughly thrilled with our dining experience at Sweetwaters recently. We were pleasantly surprised to find the menu at this Church street restaurant's menu to be eclectic and creative. After a round of craft local beers we tried the calamari appetizer which was absolutely fantastic. Our entrees were just as expertly prepared. The ambiance and service were much better than average. I will go out of my way to dine here again!

There’s a lot to like about Sweetwaters. The food is solid. The service is good, and they have a nice outdoor area to sit and watch the world go by on the best pedestrian street in Burlington - Church St.

And now the bad.

If you make a reservation like my family did on a busy Saturday night, don’t expect to sit outside because your reservation DOES NOT include the outdoor seating. That’s right. You can only sit indoors because if you want the privilege of sitting outside you have to wait with all the masses that didn’t have the smarts like we did to make a reservation! How’s that for rewarding your loyal customers!

So my family refused to wait 25 minutes (probably would have been longer because when are they ever right about those things) for a table outside and opted to eat inside instead in a room with little atmosphere or decoration.

What astoundingly stupid policy. The people who make reservations are committing to eat in your restaurant. Reward them instead of the passers by and let them eat where they want. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.
