This wonderful boutique hotel is the best place to stay in Burlington. Local Vermont products and artisans are featured throughout though the design clearly has a modern European influence. Rooms and common areas are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Front desk service is friendly and helpful.

The bar and dining areas are open with a sophisticated feel (and prices). The food is ok but not great and the service so-so at best so the bar area is more suited for drinks than dining. There are plenty of great restaurants within easy walking distance so this isn't an issue.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a partial lake view. In warm weather, ask for a room that doesn't face the o...

I grew up in Vermont and now live in the Boston area. I love how the hotel uses products from local Vermont companies. Whether it is the soap, artwork, books, mugs, coffee, etc., everything is from Vermont. We loved the hardwood floors, jacuzzi tub and comfy couch in our sixth floor room. The beds were very comfortable and we had a good experience with the service. While I do give it a very good rating I also have a couple items for consideration:

1- Fireplace noise - There is a timer for the fireplace (makes sense), however it ticks loud enough that it is hard to actually enjoy it if you aren't watching TV to cover up the noise.
2- Hallway noise - With the room being on the small side there is no entryway to buffer the sound from the hallway. We were woken up by closing doors. The doors are very heavy so they slam even though you aren't trying to.

All-in-all we enjoyed our stay and would consider staying again. The fireplace was a disappoint since we paid extra for it and didn't really use it as much as we would have liked, but it was still a great stay.

I stayed here with my boyfriend this past weekend and we had a blast! The hotel is fairly new and the rooms are clean and well decorated and spacious. We have 2 dogs so it was so nice to be able to travel with them. We stayed on the 2nd floor and there was a terrace by the elevators that had a grassy area for the dogs to run around if we didn't feel like taking them out to the lobby (this is good for middle of the night trips to let the dogs pee). Each floor has a community pantry with coffee, tea, water, seltzer, apples, hot chocolate and ice.

The Juniper restaurant was excellent and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The hotel is one block away from beautiful Lake Champlain and we were able to walk around the trail there and even found a hug dogpark. Church Street is only 2 or 3 blocks away too!

For dinner we tried Hen of the Wood which is right next to the hotel and it was AMAZING! Great service and excellent food! Highly recommend it!

We've stayed several times at The Hotel Vermont--our daughter is a student at UVM, so we like to visit. Burlington is a great town any time of the year, and some of the best farm to table food anywhere. The hotel vermont is the perfect place to stay. A "green" building--gorgeous rooms, outdoor deck area, and two super restaurants. They offer made in VT products in the room--you'll want to buy some to bring home because they're all so nice. Cheerful, helpful and knowledgeable staff...oh--and free bikes!

Real wood fire in the lobby, wood paneled bar and restaurant, well lit halls, rooms with very comfortable beds and stress-less recliners with foot rests, along with a desk and separate shower/sink area and toilet. Keurig single cup coffee makers on each floor along with water and seltzer dispensing machine as well as organic teas. Well equipped gym and daily yoga classes for the growing number of yoga practitioners. Half a block from Lake Champlain and three blocks from Church Street tourist zone with Macy's and mall on the way there. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for the first time. We really had a great experience. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. There was a welcoming feel the minute we walked through the door.
The room made the most of its foot print, the ceilings are high and that creates a great feel, a large window is also wonderful. The bed is the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. The furnishings are unique, minamalistic, but very stylish and very Vermont like, there was even a maple sap bucket used for garbage.

Loved the coffee/tea/ice nook, with fresh apples too.

The only thing we noticed is that we heard hall noice a lot, and doors shutting. That is when we had the TV off, not as noticable when the TV is on.

Room Tip: We were on the second floor facing north. I would suggest a higher floor, facing west or south.

My husband, two daughters and I spent 1 night at the Hotel Vermont. Upon arrival, the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We had 1 room with a queen and a double bed. They upgraded us to a partial view, which was great. The only negative was lack of a mirror besides the bathroom. We were doing a tour of UVM and St Mikes, and three girls getting ready was tough. Also, the walls were pretty thin. I couldn't hear talking, but doors closing and walking around in the other rooms were definitely noticeable.

All in all I loved the vibe of the Hotel, the nearby restaurants, and the wonderful staff. I hope one of my kids go to school in Burlington so I can stay at this hotel all the time!
