“A gem!”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

Spent 2 nights here- a Sunday & Monday. I had booked on line directly through the hotel for a top floor- (queen & double bed I believe). When we arrived to check in there was some kind of issue with the reservation & I was thinking - Oh no, they don't have us in the system. The manager was called over (sorry I don't recall names) and i believe he said there was an overbooking and the room I reserved wasnt available but he was going to do something that would "make us very happy" and he DID. It was a city view (looked across at the courthouse which was closed anyway on Sunday) but it was not anything horrible to look at. It was an enormous suite with a living room, sofa with pullout, TV, a dining table, beautiful little kitchen area with sink, microwave and little fridge, a separate giant bedroom. He said it was 2x the size of the room we were supposed to have. Also bought us a round of drinks while we waited a half hour for suite to be ready.
So to make this short:
1. Staff: helpful, friendly, knowledgeable & professional. A really superior staff.
2. Room: it was a suite like I said so it was large, immaculate, decorated beautifully. Also a small detail that I liked- 2 outlets above the bedside table to charge your electronics conveniently.
3. Location: we had never been to Burlington so very happy this hotel is a couple of minutes one way to the lake and a couple of minutes the other to shopping & restaurants on Church street.
4. Amenities: they have a beautiful coffee station by the elevator with GOOD coffee. Also sparkling or regular water and one day they put out a basket of delicious plums. Also bagged ice! Just grab a bag of ice for your drinks or cooler. Beautiful, small gym with great equipment too.
5. Restaurant (Juniper) is in the lobby area with a bar too. I didn't have high expectations for a hotel restaurant really but we were going to have breakfast there for convenience. It was AMAZING. Delicious, fresh, I can't even think of more adjectives that say AWESOME. My husband and son went down later the 2nd night to grab a burger & he could not stop raving about it.

Cons:
1. The shampoo, conditioner & shower gel dispenser were in an awkward spot in the shower & hard to pump out the one closest to the wall. I think separate little bottles would be better. But that's it for Cons.

Obviously, loved, loved, loved this place.

This is by far one of the most pleasant stays my significant other and I have had in some time! As we walked in the door, you could feel the friendliness all around. I mean...they gave us complimentary local ice cream!!!

The design of the hotel is spot on and in line with several European boutique hotels. The amenities included several different activities - yoga, paddle boarding, biking! The rooms, the BEDS (so comfy)and bathrooms were well appointed and we even got some design ideas! The location is perfect and you can walk to Lake Champlain as well as the main drag of restaurants and stores. It was just the perfect place to end our cozy New England vacation.

Room Tip: We did get a limited view, but that was FINE with us. If you want the gorgeous sprawling Lake Champl...

We absolutely loved our stay here. Comfortable, beautifully created, airy and spacious feel. And right in downtown. The staff was lovely. I particularly appreciated every green-living choice -- from filtered water to natural bath products. Can't recommend it enough.

The hotel bar is the highlight of our stay. They had beer on tap that no one else in town had (Lawson's) and the bar staff was very knowledgeable. Needless to say we spent quite a bit of time at the hotel bar even thought there are other great options in town. The room itself was nice. Very eco-friendly and well decorated. My only complaint about the room was the eco-feature that turns off the power to the room when there is no one in it. Well, we were in it. Even though deadlock was on, the power would go off at night. I had to open the room door (to the hallway) and close it again to get the lights on. Not exactly what you want to do in the middle of the night. But other than that the stay was great. The staff was very helpful and we enjoyed our stay. Oh, and they have a beer concierge! Nice.

Love this hotel. Very cool decor and layout. Rooms were really comfortable with lots of nice details. They have free "recycled" bikes for guest use from "Old Spokes Home" (love that!).
Location is perfect: short walk to the waterfront and to all the shops, pubs and restaurants downtown and Church Street. It is LEED-certified so very green.

Hotel Vermont is a beautiful place with a laid back Vermont feel. From the vintage bikes in the lobby available free to guests to the bar with comfy sitting areas including an outside deck with fire pit, it says welcome. The rooms have minimalistic feel and are modern.

It is across the street from Lake Champlain and walking distance to Church Street and all it has to offer.

However if you're an early riser and want room service forget it. Their restaurant opens at 7am and they don't offer room service.

The hotel is just a short walk from Lake Champlain, the Echo Museum, Church Street, and their lobby where their awesome bar and restaurant are located. The food was great. We had scallops, a burger, and their salads. The bar had a good selection of local beers and yummy cocktail drinks. The rooms were great and our bed was comfy. We loved the details, like the good decor, the treats left on the bed from the He of the Wood next door, fruit and coffee in the lobby, and the yummy smelling toiletries.

Room Tip: We had a very nice view of the Lake and recommend that side of the hotel.
