“Short but Nice, Efficient Stay”
Reviewed 19 May 2012

On a recent (5/17/12) weekday evening, stayed over one night on business trip. Very nice, almost new property. Efficient check in and check out. Very nice public areas. Stayed on 7th floor with partial lake view. Very nice room and all mechanicals worked fine. Excellent accomodations and convenient to many places downtown.

Room Tip: A city-view or partial lake view room should save you a few dollars.

Although we liked the hotel overall, I was very disappointed in the views of the lake. Our room was on the 3rd floor. The pictures on the hotel website show an unobscured view of the lake, but our view as three quarters blocked by trees. There was only one small section with a clear view of the lake. For the premium price we paid for this "lake view" room, I did not want to glimpse the lake through the trees and I was very disappointed. Our 3rd floor room was also directly above the live band that played in the lounge until 11 pm. Although we were tired, getting to sleep was impossible until the music stopped.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room on a high level.

By far, the harbor view is the best hotel in Burlington. The rooms are nicely decorated and meet the marriott's best standards. The views of the lake are fantastic (book a lake facing room). And the location is as central as it gets. Most of the other hotels in the area are more of a motel standard. There is a small bar, but with Church street just a couple blocks away, why would you want to stay in the hotel. Parking is immediately outside or in the garage which adjoins with a small mall (macy's, williams sonoma, etc.). Walk down to the harbor and stroll around. Take a lake tour on a boat. There's a good crepe place on the way to the harbor. Or walk in the other direction, past the mall, to church street. Great shopping, art, bars and restaurants. Well worth the visit.

Room Tip: pick a lake view room.

I had a partial lake-view room on the 7th floor. Great stay. The AC filter hadn't been replaced in what looked like a decade, but there were not any other issues. Great stay, and management took care of one issue within SECONDS. I'll be back!

Great hotel for spending a few nights in downtown Burlington. Walking distance to the "action" in downtown Burlington. Close to restaurants, clubs, UVT, and walking trails near the waterfront. Our view was magnificent. Suggest staying on a high floor to enhance your views of Lake Champlain. The lobby is home to a very lively bar area and restaurant. It's a bit cramped, but I guess typical for a downtown hotel. Staff super friendly. Room was very nice, modern bathroom and comfortable bed with nice desk area and reading chair. Walls were a bit thin.
Took us only 10 minutes to drive from the hotel to the airport. Perfect location. Easy parking or valet parking available. Burlington is a great town; wish we had stayed longer to explore.

Room Tip: Request a room with a view of Lake Champlain on a high floor.
