Cuisines: Turkish
Description: Turkish food is a true fusion of many different cultures, a collage of different cuisines so to speak. Turkey, geo-physically located as a bridge between Europe and Asia, has been a melting pot of many civilizations since the beginning of history. Once the land of Hittites and the Greeks, it later became the home of the Turks, a nomadic peoples. Therefore, its cuisine is not only a collage of all the cultures that lived in Turkey throughout history, but also a collage of cuisines from all the lands Turks lived before settling in what was then called Asia-Minor. Today's Turkish cuisine is a fusion of Turkic, Ottoman, Greek, Persian, Arabic, Lebanese, and Armenian cooking that can be defined as a true and unique Mediterranean food experience. Turkish food, as most Mediterranean food, relies heavily on appetizers called "mezes" and especially the freshest of ingredients. Although it has many meat specialties, it is predominantly based on fresh vegetables. Therefore, it offers a perfect combination of vegetarian and meat dishes, appealing to a broad spectrum of the eating public.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch and really enjoyed a small mezze platter, eggplant lasagne, and a donor kebab platter.
All perfectly seasoned, and the baba ganoush and fresh made flatbread were amazing.

A smaller inside, but rooftop dining facility with some of the best Turkish food we have eaten (including several times in Turkey). Appetizers, main dishes and desserts were all very tasty and reasonably priced. Service was great and would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for the best Turkish dining.

The mezze platter is a must have. Every bite was amazing. We got the vegetable casserole which was so good, and loved the rice pilaf it came with. Also got the cheese rolls, which were filled with a feta-like cheese. Tempted to go back but we’re only staying 3 nights in Burlington, and we feel we should try out some other restaurants

I'm a big fan of this restaurant which is located on upper Church St in downtown Burlington. It's a very small setting but intimate and perfect for a nice celebration with the family. Reservations are a must due to their limited seating and popularity. As for the food, it's amazingly delicious and addictive. The lavash bread, kebabs, baba ganoush, etc are all a must and yummy. Service is excellent and the staff and owners are very friendly. Keep in mind that this restaurant is slightly on the expensive side but it's definitely worth every penny.

We had dinner at Istanbul Kebab House this evening. Everything we tried from appetizers to dinner was delicious! The waiter was very attentive and the portions were larger than at other middle eastern restaurants where we’ve eaten. The prices were reasonable considering the location on Church St. Make reservations as the place is busy!
