“Worth the time!”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

If you’re in Vermont, take the time to see the Cabot Cheese Factory. This factory is an actual working cheese factory where you can see the cheese being made. Also, they do make cheese on the weekends so you will see “action” if you go on a Saturday (unlike other factory tours in Vermont). At the end of the tour you get the opportunity to taste many different varieties of Cabot’s offerings. I felt the tour and the people who worked there were sincere and the pride of what they do came through in the tour and in their product and I definitely have more of an appreciation for the cooperatives that make up the Cabot product.

“So good”
Reviewed 10 August 2014 via mobile

Tour could have been a little more informative/interactive. But it was fun to see how everything was made and the cheese was SOOO good. Thanks!

“a little cheesy but worth the visit”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

This is a great family experience with a real opportunity to see a cheese factory in operation (as opposed to a video tour or a Disney like tour through a simulated factory). They offer a fee cheese tasting opportunity to sample the many different cheeses in production. My son is lactose intolerant and only by taking this tour did we learn cheddar cheese has no lactose! The wait to take the tour on a rainy Vermont summer day can be a little long when there is little available for family activity...but hey it isn't as long as the Ben and Jerry's wait and a better tour.

“Great fun and interesting”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

My sister-in-law and I visited the Cabot Cheese Factory in August of 2014 with three of my nieces (ages 10, 8, and 6). We ALL enjoyed the tour. It's a real, working factory and the tour guides and folks in the gift shop are genuine. There's very little "shtick" here. You get to walk down a hallway between sides of the factory, with picture windows on each side so that you can watch what's happening. Nobody rushes you, so long as you're willing to step out of the way of employees trying to do their job. We watched the making of pepperjack cheese and the packaging of sour cream. The gift shop includes the opportunity to taste 10-15 different kinds of Cabot cheese, many of which are also available for purchase. (Kids under 12 are free.)

We are cheese lovers. Specifically Cabot cheese. We were in heaven here! Informative tour and lots of yummy samples. Kids are free. Adults were $2. Nice restrooms. Easy parking. Lovely ride through the Vermont countryside. Don't skip it!
