I use a sliding scale. A diner is judged by a different standard than a five star restaurant. As diners go, this is a 5. The burgers were just that. Simple, old fashioned grilled patties on toasted buns with hand cut fries done to a perfect golden brown, The onion rings were not up to the french fries but still quite good. The chester burger has two huge patties and requires two hands and a rachetting jaw. The swiss burger has carmelized onions and swiss and is best on the marble rye. If you can, save room for desert, the peanut butter pie is amazing! Decor is slightly shabby classic diner. The service is friendly and comforting, like diners from my childhood long ago. No credit cards are accepted but there is an atm at the service station across the street. But the again, how many 60's diners took plastic?
