In my opinion, this place has a great Vermont feel. The decor was rustic, it seemed like everybody there knew each other, and the employees (while laid back) were very nice.
As for decor, the walls and floor are rustic wood (a barn-like feel), and there were taps hanging along the walls, along with some retro skiing posters. Kind of a good collection of things I think of when I think of Vermont.
The food was good. Burger was juicy, salad had a good dressing and nice selection of greens. Our dessert tasted good, but it was a cookie topped with ice cream served on top of a hot skillet, so we had to race to finish it before the ice cream melted all over the pan. Beer selection seemed good.
Maybe some people are thrown off by the name... it sounds like a fancier place than it is, but the sign does say "Stone Hearth Inn and Tavern," so as long as you expect more of a tavern setting than fine dining, then it's a great place. It just had a really good rustic feel that was a good fit for a fall Vermont vacation. We enjoyed it and would eat there again if in the area.
