A hiking buddy and I stayed here for one night as part of an inn-to-inn travel package. Fox Creek Inn is a very pretty old place -- sort of out of the way, but still convenient to many of the area's attractions. The common indoor areas are quite attractive. Our room, one of the cheaper ones, was okay but not exceptional; I wouldn't say it had really been "decorated." The innkeeper, Alex, is extremely friendly and helpful and gives the impression that he'll do just about anything to make your stay a memorable one. The inn's two golden retrievers are happy to play with you if you want, and happily leave you alone if you don't. Dinner was delicious, as was breakfast. Couples are seated with other couples -- nice for sociable types, possibly not if you don't want company. I suppose you could ask for a private table if you really wanted one. My only nitpick is the pre-dinner wine. We had just come from a B&B that served free wine before dinner, and the wine here was offered without any indication that it would cost extra .... but it did. Maybe there was an explanation that we missed. But anyway, that's just a small gripe. As to amenities at this inn, there aren't a ton. Other inns we visited had swimming or tennis or shuffleboard or hiking trails or fishing on site; this didn't. But if you want a quiet, peaceful place where you can relax, you'll love Fox Creek.
