This place is more often reviewed for its food and less so for its hospitality and rooms. Since we were immediately informed on entering that there was no dinner, we can comment on the Inn. The owner was haughty and marginally friendly. The room was adequate but devoid of any amenities other than soap. There was no tea service or snacks that we found in most B&Bs. The breakfast was adequate but no better than we have had at a Denny's. When we left, only the waitress said goodbye. On top of that, there was a solicitation to tip the housekeeper in our room. We obliged as befitted the situation. Overall, not a memorable experience. I had the distinct feeling that they were doing us a favor by letting us stay at there place. I would not return. Perhaps the dinner is good, but based on our experience, it wouldn't be worth the trouble. Not recommended.

We have stayed at the Inn at West View Farm many times over the past three or four years. It is a nice, quiet, relaxed place to stay while in the Manchester/Dorset/SW Vermont area. It stands a little apart from the Dorset Inn and others in the town. Even in Dorset, being a little bit off the main stage can have its advantages. It is still in easy walking distance of anything in the village. The Inn at West View has the additional bonus of having a world class culinary experience just down the staircase. Even if you are not staying there, the dinner at the Inn at West View should not be missed.

We've enjoyed many meals over the years at this beautiful inn, but this was the first time we've stayed here on a long weekend of leaf-peeping. Set back off Route 30 in beautiful little Dorset, the Inn's ten attractive rooms, living room, bar and restaurant make this an ideal place to stay. Our large room provided a perfect bed, cable TV, wifi, and comfortable bathroom, and delicious breakfast are part of the deal. The owner and staff could not be more accommodating. We plan to return.

My sister and I shared a twin bedded room at the Inn for 2 nights in July. The room was thoughtfully appointed, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom met our expectations. The breakfasts were exceptional, and our dinner was also delicious. The service was just right.
Our hostess at the Inn suggested that we might like to attend the play at the Dorset Playhouse, and when we agreed, she bought our tickets for us. The Play was great fun and we were glad she had arranged it for us.

We traveled from the Equinox (not far at all) to this beautiful Inn and we were delighted by the food. Very delicious. We are in our 40s and we were by far the youngest couple in the restaurant. We were seated by a group of 3 couples (all golfers) & were subjected to braggy golf talk the entire meal! The were very pompous, name dropping and tiresome to listen to! We have eaten all over Southern Vermont and have to wonder why these lovely restaurants don't play some soft music or jazz in the background to drown out other peoples conversations.
Other than the staid crowd I would recommend this Inn for dinner without reservation! The Asian flare, French inspired cuisine was top notch!

We would be traveling for 4 weeks and be gone from home on my husband's birthday. When I found the Inn at West View, I knew it was perfect for my husband's birthday dinner. The inn is located in the tiny village of Dorset. Compared to the much bigger and busier Manchester with all of its outlet stores, Dorset is a bit of heaven, both quiet and picturesque. And to find an inn with all that this one has to offer was a real treat. Christal who is the owner along with her chef husband, Ray, have owned the inn for 13 years and have done a great job in making it one of those special places not only for travelers like us, but for local folks as well. It has beautiful common rooms that make it perfect for reading by the fireplace or playing a game of cribbage at the bar. The area devoted to the restaurant service is beautiful. We had a window table from which we enjoyed watching a vibrantly colored sunset. And with Christal's help we ordered a spectacular dinner. The sauces were excellent. We ordered salads and appetizers to split so we could taste more and ended by sharing the maple cheesecake (My gosh was it good!) My husband continued to compare his delicious duck comfit with every other meal we had during the rest of our trip. It would be one of our favorite and most visited restaurants if we lived in the area, and the inn of our choice for special overnights. Just a bit of heaven!

Room Tip: The room that we chose was a bit smaller than we imagined, but it was really not a problem. I did n...
