Whenever we are visiting family in the area we try to make time to go to Lake Willoughby. Fantastic hiking trails, great canoeing, beautiful but cold water!

“Beautiful view and beautiful weather”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2014

The skies are clear up here and at night the stars are amazing. A couple of times, we have seen a meteor shower. The water is a little on the cool side but refreshing. Although no pets are allowed, locals tend to bring their dogs everywhere. Most are well behaved (pets and owners-LOL).

“Lake Willoughby a little known area...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 March 2014

This lake is formed from ancient glaciers flowing down the adjacent mountains, melting into a valley. As a result, the water is very clear and surprisingly deep for a small lake. Divers love it....visability is excellent, but water is cold.
