“Best Location, Great Value”
Reviewed 15 September 2013

We found this little B&B while searching for dog friendly places to stay in or near Burke. We have been coming up to Burke a couple times a year since we discovered the Kingdom trails a few years ago. This was our second trip up this year after staying further from town we really wanted to be in East Burke so we could enjoy the village and not spend time driving back and forth. We have stayed at a couple of the other locations in the area as well but didn't want to pay high prices just for the opportunity to leave the dog behind for a few hours while we were on the trail.
We were in with another couple so we had rented both rooms for a weekend stay. We arrived on a rainy Friday afternoon to the smell of fresh donuts, were greeted, given a very brief run down before we went out. We woke to the amazing smell of the bakery, and a great breakfast. We had the place to ourselves most of the weekend and really appreciated walking to town, the country store and a nice dinner on Saturday evening. Rooms were small but adequate, beds were high quality, there was a great back yard, a nice covered porch to sit on and watch people pass by. The location is the best in Burke if you really want to enjoy the town and community while you are there. The bakery is well known, and everyone we talked to had a favorite that we "must try". I was a little hesitant staying in such a small B&B (my first time) but couldn't pass on the location and price. By mid day Saturday both couples agreed that we enjoyed this over our previous stay in one of the bigger trail side Inns, and would happily stay here again. Dunagin was a great and tolerant host to our young dog, and Holly was even better. By the time we left I wasn't sure if we should say bye or give her a hug. We were even given a treat to take home with us. We will certainly stay here again in the future and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable place to sleep and spend some time.

My wife and I were here for a weeks' visit with family in the area. We could not have felt more welcome and comfortable. The breakfasts were super. Holly was the perfect hostess and very responsive to our needs. An added attraction was having "the run of the house." We would certainly stay here again.

My husband and I travel to East Burke VT several times a year to visit family. For the part we stay with family but this trip we decided to also go for a little quiet time. Hollyberry's Bed & Breakfast--owned and operated by the fabulous Holly--was the perfect choice. There are 2 cozy guest rooms, a comfortable parlor to hang out in and a great porch to sit on and watch East Burke Village life pass by. We were the only ones in the inn so it was very quiet. We slept soundly all 3 nights we stayed there, waking up each morning to the smell of delicious treats baking in the oven. The kitchen is the hub of Holly's other enterprise, Hollyberry's Bakery. She makes amazing donuts, muffins, coffee cakes and more 6 days a week for local shops and restaurants. The breakfast includes a sampling of Holly's baked good, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, OJ, coffee and tea.

The house is Holly's childhood home and is lovingly cared for. Both of the guest rooms are right next to one another. Each has its own door but there is also a shared door between the two rooms. The bathroom is shared. As we were there by ourselves this setup worked perfectly.

Perhaps the best things about our stay was Holly herself. She is incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. We also loved her very nice dog Dunigan.

This clean, beautiful, homey, little place is right at the heart of it all. Holly and her doggie partner are so very sweet and accommodating. We ate well, slept well, enjoyed people watching from the porch, and had easy access to the trails. I can't say enough good about this gem of a place. Thanks, Holly!

Hollyberry's B&B in East Burke is a great little B&B. It is a charming old home with a lot of history. The owner operates a small bakery in this home, so there are fresh baked goods every morning during the week and on Saturdays. You will likely be awoken by the delicious aromas in the air! Guests have access to a living room and dining room, and a great front porch to sit on during the spring, summer and fall in Vermont.

The location is also a winner... within a 50 yards of a sports equipment store, and the entry to mountain bike trails all over the NE Kingdom. There are also two great restaurants nearby (Rivergarden Cafe and Willie's).

Room Tip: There are only two rooms to choose from, both on the first floor. They are both great!
