“Homey spot near Kingdom Trails”
Reviewed 9 October 2013

I hesitated a while to write this review, because I'm afraid that when word gets out about how great this place is, I won't be able to get a room. My husband and I had been headed to a different mountain biking destination, and diverted last-minute to East Burke, arriving at 9:30 pm. The office had been closed half an hour, but the proprietor drove down anyway to check us in. Then he called around to local restaurants to find somewhere that would stay open long enough for us to get food. My very particular husband rates the bed "comfiest ever." The continental breakfast is actually an assortment of delicious home-made treats like scones and little quiches, plus fruit, and basics like bagels and cereal. The afternoon cookies and juice were perfect to break up a full day of riding. There's a hose and a bike stand, and a large room where you can work on your bike. The downtown location is central, so we walked to restaurants for dinners and rode daily from the Inn to the trails. The balcony and the yard are nice spots to enjoy a beer after a day riding, although we never actually found the time. Since there's only one mini-fridge in the building, I'd suggest bringing a small cooler if this your plan.

My husband, daughter, and I stayed at the WilloBurke for three night in the Fall of 2013. The accommodations far exceeded our expectations and the staff and owners are wonderful people. The lodge is brand new and the structure is very impressive with the lofted ceilings. The rooms are private, spacious, and super clean. The setting is beautiful and charming and close to restaurants and trails. I can not say enough good things about our stay at the WilloBurke. It was like home away from home for us that's how much we enjoyed our stay. The continental breakfast was so delicious every morning. My husband and I highly recommend the Willoburke and will always have fond memories of our stay and of Vermont. I would like to thank the owners for being so welcoming and fun to chat with. They really go above and beyond to make a wonderful experience for their costumers.

What a great place with excellent service. Helpful and friendly without being overbearing. The property is awesome, newly renovated with great craftsmanship. We stayed in room 8 which has a small balcony overlooking the back. The room was spacious and comfortable. Left the windows open at night so we could sleep to the babbling stream which made it even better. It's a short walk to the Pub Outback and the Kingdom Trails HQ. Bike to the trails right from the Inn. Big storage room to stow your bikes. We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Rooms in the rear will be able to hear the stream out back which we considered a bonus

My wife and I chose the Willoburke this August for its reasonable price and proximity to the Kingdom Trails network, but we were blown away by both how nice the place is and how helpful and friendly the owners and staff are. Our room was clean, spacious, and modern and the balcony overlooked a charming mountain stream that was perfect for toe dipping after a long ride. The Inn's great room is open and inviting and the food was consistently local, homemade, and really delicious. The staircase to the upper level by itself is worth gawking at for several minutes. As well, the owners took a personal interest in making sure any questions we had about the area were answered, and they went out of their way to provide what we needed for a quality stay. Finally, it's definitely worth mentioning that the town, area, and greater region that is northeast Vermont (with the White Mountains of New Hampshire a very short drive away) is too cool, and the culture and scenery of this particular part of America will not leave you wanting for activities, no matter how long your stay. Again--highly recommended.

Room Tip: Our balcony room was nice for relaxing in the crisp New England air.

I typically don't like to hype places I like, but the staff were just too cool not to help spread the word. Me and a friend stayed in the apartment for 3 nights in August. The place and everything in it is brand new. Easily accomodates 2 couples or a large family. The apartment includes everything [linens, dishes, WiFi] that one would need to make it their home. Unlike the rest of the inn, the apartment is situated by itself, lending itself to even more privacy. Bonus back porch really is the icing on the cake. Overall location is stellar, as you can walk 4 minutes to the epi-center of east burke [welcome center, general store, bike store, trail head]. Also, there is a free shuttle that runs all day between the general store and the base of Burke Mt.

My son and I stayed at the Willoburke for one night this summer when we drove to East Burke to pick up our new Lab puppy. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The accommodations were modern and very comfortable. There were cyclists everywhere and I wished we were staying for a real vacation and not just for one night. WE named our puppy "Willow Burke."

Room Tip: We stayed in the Red Building which I think is the "Lodge". It is beautiful. Breakfast w...

Nice rooms - basic but all you need. Very friendly staff. The hotel is bike friendly - including storage area and bike stand for repairs. Breakfast was good but be sure to get their early - many items were picked through by the time we got there. Just missed out on the warm cinnamon buns. Will certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: Away from common area - can get loud if you want to sleep in.

Thank you for your review. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay at Willoburke, and since your review we have instructed our chef to bake a double batch of sticky buns as they are sort of like potato chips, you just can't stop at one... We hope to see you again in the near future!
