We have dinner at Chantecleer 3 or 4 times a year. It is an extremely pleasant restaurant with a delightful staff. There have been periods when the food was just not up to par -- but throughout 2013 the food has been excellent. The European salad is always a good starter as is the smoked salmon. We decided to be "brave" and have the the pot stickers for a starter on our last visit, and they were excellent. The Dover Sole is old-fashioned, simple and everyone should have experience it; simply superb. Their beef dishes are consistently good -- and prepared just as one requests. If you are a dessert person, you may be disappointed; the desserts are predictable -- but that's a small price to pay for an otherwise excellent menu. Incidentally, they have an outstanding wine list with very good selections through a wide price range.

Had a perfect meal with a friend at the bar. We are locals who prefer a more casual experience and the bar was perfect. Don't just save this restaurant for special occasions, keep it on your short list for a wonderful midweek dinner!

The food, the ambiance, the service were all very, very good. This is a warm, welcoming, and elegant restaurant. A couple at the next table were clearly enjoying a lovely romantic dinner. And perhaps that is the best use for Chantecleer -- as a date-night spot. Otherwise, as good as it was, the prices are quite hard to justify. As a very small example, the French Onion soup ($10) is very nice. But it is not any better, really, than the $5 soup at the breakfast & lunch spot called the Little Rooster Cafe just minutes away. And $48 for rack of lamb. Wow, let's go to NYC.

Loved the ambience, the friendly welcome, the attentive staff, the delicious wine and the unbelievable food. All four of us were very pleased with our appetizers and our meals. Met the owner at the bar at the end of the night and expressed our appreciation for her fine restaurant. We will be back!

Been eating here for years... moved out of this area some time ago but still enjoy eating here. Atmosphere is nice... that's not why you come here rhough. The food is consistently excellent. I love the schnitzel and spaetzel. The steaks are excellent too. Consistently excellent!
