“Excellant seasoning - over cooked”
Reviewed 18 June 2013

We went to a weekday dinner at 5:30. At that time of day, the restaurant has four different menus to pick from: Taverna, Prudential(early bird), Specials and the regular menu. Everything looked great even though it took a while to understand why there were four menus.. We had their calamari, sauted but we felt a better description was that it was more like cooking fried chicken in olive oil, and the taste was fantastic. But the calamari was overcooked and therefore was tough. The Greek salad was excellant. The round loaf of bread they served the table was very bland. For dinner, my husband had the steak from the Prudential menu. It tasted great he said but was thin and fatty. Maybe they save the good steaks for the higher priced menu. He said that the corn on the cob was the best part of his entre. I had the regular menu veal Pizzioloa with mushrooms, peppers and onions in a red sauce over pasta. Fantastic tastes, over-cooked veal. Then came the dessert cart. NO complaints here. We tried the tiramisu and the pumpkin cheesecake, and they were fantastic.
The room was pretty, the wait staff was very friendly and attentive, and the timing of the meal was great. One little thing, the hostess needs a personality. She was proper but not friendly and never smiled.
Would I go there again? Yes, I would like to try other menu items to find out if this was just an off night for the cook. The taste of the food necessitates another try.

“Tummy Pleaser”
Reviewed 8 January 2013

The food here is consistently delicious. The owners Jimmy and Mikaila are extremely warm and welcoming hosts and the staff is top notch, every one of them. My husband and I often eat in the bar when we arrive in Fair Haven after a long drive from NY. The Inn is the perfect venue for a leisurely dinner on a weekend or a delightful treat on a weeknight. The bar steak is one of my favorites as is the crab cake appetizer and the grilled calamari is simply fabulous. The menu is varied and everything is cooked with a great deal of care. The Fairhaven Inn has a great atmosphere and you are never hurried, so go, relax and enjoy!

“Always terrific”
Reviewed 23 November 2012

We have been to the Fair Haven Inn for lunch, dinner or holidays many times and have never been disappointed. Holidays are a special treat with variety on the menu, excellent service, and THE most beautiful decorating! The lady who decorates is amazing and she creates a wonderful atmosphere for their many guests. They do take reservations which you need for the holidays. There is also a very nice bar area with tables to order food. The food is always excellent, and the dessert trolley...save room or take something home for later. It's great for large groups, family gatherings, couples, and they have a good kids menu too. Plenty of parking, easy to get to, and always worth the trip.
