I am not sure why the folks that own this place are in the hospitality industry. They have absolutely no clue on how an "Inn" is run. Where do I begin:

A) Check in: loose and sloppy, no real welcome and clarity in how the inn operates, what to expect, who to call if you need help

B) Rooms: Antiquated is a nice word. Beds, floor door creak and you hear every movement of all the other guest. Our own door could not even shut for privacy. Towels provided are substandard to say the least.

C) Breakfast: small slice of honeydew, two english muffins with center cut out and egg in middle (overcooked) small slice of tomato, slice of cucumbers. When asked for eggs only, the response was "I don't like being given orders - I don''t like special requests." Yikes....

All I can say is if you want even a modicum of comfort, this is not the place.....

Wood chuck hill farm was a delight, an old building, which is beautifull to look at, plenty of room for all the guests, with a lounge with a huge fire place, which Mark the owner lite the fire for us. This B&B is a totally relaxing, if you want to relax you can, there are plenty of walks and the air is really fresh. The rooms were comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast was freshly cooked by mark and if you wanted there were seconds. All in all a wonderfull place to stay, and if wer get the chance I would stay there again. The trees were beautifull colours all around us, what more could we ask for? Thank you Mark

Stay at Woodchuck Hill Farm, an historic colonial farm house, is a fantastic experience.
For the beautiful rooms (fully restored), for the genuine hospitality of Marc, for the rich breakfast, for the quite position (in a woods) just few miles from one of the most charming village in Vermont (Grafton).
Sure, people who looking for service as cable tv, wi-fi etc. could remain disappointed... but I think people visiting these places are looking for other things...
'A gem in the woods'.
I suggest to take dinner at Old Tavern in Grafton, a fantastic restaurant with large use of local products.

We stayed here last fall and could not be more pleased. It was some of the best days of our trip. The Inn is just outside of Grafton, a few minutes down a beautiful road. The host, Mark, is one of the things that made this place so special even before we arrived. He was so helpful with directions and recommendations. . His friendly, warm attitude transformed our stay from a B and B to something like visiting a friend. The house is inviting and historic. The common rooms were so comfortable and appealing. I usually don't hang out in the sitting room but the roaring fire and fun guests as well as our host all made for a very enjoyable evening.
We stayed in the triple room upstairs and were quite comfortable. Everything was clean and cozy. The breakfast was filling and freshly prepared. The property is large with lots of walking paths and a pond. It is an easy walk to the village and an ideal location to base in while exploring this less crowded area. The fall colors were spectacular.Be sure to call and get directions or look on google, it is very easy to find once you know where you are going

The Inn at Woodchuck Hill Farm is a delightful b&b in the Vermont woods just outside the little town of Grafton. Grafton is the prototypical Vermont village, a fun place to explore. Many of the attractions are historical/educational buildings and activities preserved by a foundation. The Inn is on a 200 acre wooded property just up the hill from the town. Our accomodations were in a large historic house full of antiques. The house is old (1780's?). It even has the original floor boards. There is a large veranda off the living room that overlooks a great view. Guests can take walks and hikes through the woods on the "farm". There are a couple of ponds with canoes where you might even catch a glimpse of a moose. We were there in October when the foliage was gorgeous. We joined Mark, the owner, in pressing apples into apple cider for the next morning's breakfast. Mark is a jovial and entertaining host. If you like to walk or hike, Grafton and Woodchuck Hill are a great location. We enjoyed walking into and around town from the inn.

When we found the place, we were amazed by the location and scenery. It's off the beaten track and is very peaceful. The owner is a 'law unto himself', regaled us with stories and appears very hospitable and happy to chat. The rooms are large - we had the top two rooms and shared a small seating area - with sturdy furniture. Bathrooms have been modernised. Superb lounge to laze around in with a wonderful fire which was ideal on the cooler evenings. There's a great covered porch which is ideal for the warmer evenings. Breakfasts (thankfully) weren't too fancy - french toast, bacon, toad in the hole (but not the English version) - and if you get time, chat to Bea who is an amazing lady.
Grafton is a picturesque village with a good ol' fashioned village store. Try the local inn - The Old Tavern - for something a bit more upmarket but not horrendously expensive - we all had 2 courses and the bill was about £20 ($35) each.
To find the Inn - at the beginning of Middletown Road, there's a sign "The Inn at Woodchuck Hill Farm". Travel up Middletown Road (the speed limit is 35) until you get to a fork in the road, take the left hand fork up the hill and the Inn is a few hundred feet at the end to the right. Even if it takes you ages to find the place, don't tell the owner as he loves to say "if you can't find us, you can't stay with us".

Called this Inn at the last minute for accommodations after finding their ad in the Vermont Get a way Guide. Innkeeper is delightful. Very difficult to find though, so make sure you get directions. There are no signs, and the owners prefer to keep it that way. The property that the Inn sits on is very beautiful and if you like nature, you will love this Inn. We stayed in the restored barn, and once again, if you love nature , you will love it. Very primitive, but clean. Basically a cabin in the woods. No t.v. or radio reception. The meal that was cooked by charming Miss Bea, was okay.

If you want peace, quiet, solitude in an out of the way type of place, stay here.
