I’m a frequent business traveler, who for some time has thought about enrolling in tripadvisor, as I frequently look to this service for its reviews. Having just visited the Ruthcliffe lodge for a little R&R I found it to be the perfect catalyst for enrolling and spreading the word of my travels and dining experiences

My wife and I just stayed here. We had an amazing time. Our room was very comfortable and clean and the public areas were cozy and pleasant. The property was peaceful and relaxing, yet activities from canoeing, fishing to biking were plentiful.

We had dinner on property both nights. We chose porch seating, providing amazing panoramic views of the lake. Excellent service, a warm and welcoming hostess, great wine selection and good food with a fabulous choice of homemade desserts made for overall first-rate dining in rustic atmosphere.

Thanks for a wonderful time, we’ll be back!

My boyfriend and I recently ate dinner here and enjoyed every moment of it. The food, service and view was excellent! I recommend the Dijon herb encrusted rack of lamb, which was cooked to perfection. I would also recommend the Fra Diavlo, for people who like a little extra flavor! Try to leave room for Kathy's homemade desserts! mmm! True authentic Italian dining! We'll definately be back.

Quaint little inn, just what we were looking for. Enjoyed a lovely afternoon on the lawn with a good book. Room was clean and appropriately appointed. Not a 4 star hotel but that's not what we were looking for. Restaurant food was excellent and the portions were generous. Breakfast was included and there were lots of choices. Excellent service, and friendly staff.

The Ruthcliffe Lodge was a mix of highs and lows. The setting, service, and breakfast were wonderful, but he bathrooms were so tiny you could barely turn around - especially in the shower! Better lighting outside the room doors would be a big improvement too. Would my husband and I go back? I think we would explore the other B&B options on Isle La Motte first.

We've stayed here several times and will return later this summer. Located on the east side of the island the lodge is a bit isolated and rustic. No TV, no phones - and that's great. Spend a relaxing evening in an adirondack chair with a glass of wine just watching the loons swim by.
Good food in the restaurant with bikes and kayaks available to burn off the extra calories.
A final plus - friendly and accomodating staff and innkeepers.
