We stayed at Jay Peak resort for a wedding in April 2014. We were REALLY REALLY impressed with our room - fireplace! - in the Jay Hotel. Overall the quality exceeded our expectations and we found our stay very good. The pumphouse was FUN - a must do. Modern, clean amenities in the hotel and a very pleasant staff made our stay worth it.

We recently returned from a weekend at Jay Peak. We stayed in a three bedroom timberline condo. The condo was a perfect setup for two families. It was very clean. The condo had all the needed supplies ( plates, cups, utensils, cookware). The washer and dryer were helpful to clean the swimwear. The water park was great! The staff was friendly and helpful. Lifeguards were everywhere. Our four year old's favorite was the river. The only area of improvement would be more private changing areas. I would recommend bringing food to cook in the condo. There are a few restaurants at the. Resort but you pay a premium.

Room Tip: Timberline condos are new

Jay Peak has unparalleled views and trails to satisfy all levels. The slope-side lodging is a great value and the staff is friendly. But beware of the Pump House. The "changing rooms" are disgusting. There were soiled swim diapers on the floor and virtually no where to place a bag down that wasn't wet. There are no showers, just a small open rinse off space, which requires you basically to share a nozzle with other guests. They frequently run out of towels and the place is so packed full of people that nothing is enjoyable; an unknown child actually sat on my lap in the indoor jacuzzi. Jay should consider more changing room options or perhaps a smaller pool area for guests of the hotel who are there to ski and just want to grab a soak at the end of the day without all the crazy.

Traveled to Jay Peak Resort in April, 2014 and stayed there while commuting to a neighboring location on business. Stayed in one of the cottages just downhill from the main hotel. The accommodations were new and very clean. We were disappointed that they had not given us a two twin bed setup as we requested (got a single queen), and there were only two bath towels in the room. Other than that, would definitely consider staying there again.

We waited 1 hour past check in time to get our room. Water park was great for the kids. We did sense that the hotel was under staffed for the vacation week. The arcade ran out of "prizes" to redeem after you spent your money playing games. The line to get food in the water park was insane! No food served at the bar which was not ideal for parents of older kids who were hanging out on the top deck. Large TV for three whole days was set to NESN, not ideal for the non sports fan. No speakers at the bar so music could not be heard. The kids had to wait over 45 minutes to get a spray on tattoo, only one person doing both hair braides and tattoos. The rooms were awesome and clean. DO NOT waste your money on the food!! Only a few restaurants of the ones offered were even open, not advertised at all. We saw the same wait staff in multiple restaurants which again means they were under staffed. We can honestly say the food was awful and completely disappointing considering how nice the rooms were. Go to the country store and buy deli meat and make sandwiches instead. Coffee shops instead of buffet breakfast. Bring food! The best food was at the water park (if you are willing to wait in line). Spa was misleading with a sign saying open daily at 9am only to get there at 10am to see the doors locked. Online ski report was 80% open with lessons starting at 9:30am. Found out that lessons stopped at this base in late March when we showed up, again poor advertising which lead the kids to be let down as they planned on skiing. Ice Rink was really nice and we had a good time at free skate. For the price we only hope that things are better here during ski season. Very pricey for the quality.

Room Tip: we opted for the 5th floor. Very quiet away from waterpark located on 2nd floor

The unit (4803) was new and beautiful. However it was not thoroughly cleaned. The toilet was dirty, floor by the front entrance was filthy, there were nails on the floor, the dishwasher was never emptied, and the kitchen garbage can was full. After waiting until after check in time to finally get our unit, we expected it to be at least cleaned. We complained twice and still did not get a clean unit. I finally swept the floor myself as we couldn't stand the grittiness on the bottoms of our feet every time we walked in the entrance way go get to the bathroom. There was a piece of burnt toast in the hallway outside our unit the entire weekend we were there. I also mentioned the issues with housekeeping again upon check out and didn't feel like anybody really cared. The water park was over rated and not worth it.

Thanks for the review Alisa. While I'm not sure I (nor the hundreds of others who have positively reviewed the park) over-rated is a word often used with the Park, a dirty unit is inexcusable and I while speak with our Housekeeping Director immediately after logging off here. I apologize and hope we see you again in order to show you a better side.

Best regards

Steve Wright.

We stayed at the resort in a 2 bedroom Golf and Mountain Cottage this past Easter weekend (4 nights). It was our first trip to Jay. Skiing was outstanding, the kids loved the waterpark (great afternoon activity) and the accommodation was great. We brought most of our own groceries (there is no grocery store nearby and the cost at the resort is quite high - bring your own!) and only had lunch a couple of times on the resort ($$). Great view of the mountain. We travelled with another family and the resort was sure to put us side by side. Good customer service, good food (the Easter Brunch was delicious at the Foundry) and, the best part, exhausted kids at the end of the day. We are definitely coming back for the same long weekend next year and staying in a ski-in, ski-out condo near one of the lifts. Looking forward to it already!

Room Tip: If you are an avid skier, the Golf and Mountain Cottages, although lovely, are a bit too far from th...

Thanks for the review Macleans. We agree, Golf and Mtn units are fabulous and you got a great Easter Weekend for sure. It's great to hear families enjoying themselves-it's why we're all here.

Look forward to hosting you again
