“Great Food, Excellent Service, Cosy Surroundings”
Reviewed 6 March 2011

Whilst staying at the Vermont Inn during a recent skiing trip to Vermont my wife and ate in this restaurant on a number of occasions and were never disappointed. Mitchell and Jennifer who own the Inn, run a great restaurant consistently delivering quality food and great service. Pre-dinner cocktails served in the Inns "Pub" preceeds a most enjoyable evening in a well presented, friendly and "cosy" dining room. The tables close to the fireplace are ideal for couples. A varied menu is complemented by a choice of evening specials and a well selected wine list. The filet mignon and lamb were two of our particular favourites. Mitchell, Jennifer and their friendly staff work hard to ensure that everyone has a most enjoyable evening. Well worth a visit when in the area and top of our list when we return next year.

“Hard To Beat”
Reviewed 20 October 2010

The Vermont Inn Restaurant is a great place to eat. The breakfast for those who stay at the B&B should fit any palate. Owner Mitchell Duffy, a former experimental cook for Nabisco, handles the morning meal. Each day he features a different kind of pancake and a style of French toast (my favorite is the raison-cinimon), all cooked to perfection and presented attractively. In addition there are a variety of omlets and eggs, prepared to order, cereals, muffins, fruit, juices, and more
Dinner there ranks up there with the best restaurants anywhere. The chef, whose name I do not know, has been there at least 20 years. My wife loved the lamb chops and said the crab cakes are the best she's ever eaten. I loved the filet mignon. But everything was wonderful and the servers were personable and competent. We had eaten there several times over the years before we stayed there for a pleasant experience in a convenient location with a magnificent view..

“A Wine Dinner Worth Attending”
Reviewed 5 August 2010

I recently attended a Wine Dinner at the Vermont Inn during Kilington's Wine Festival. It was a fun evening and a dinner to remember. The food was fantastic. Service was also very good considering that there was only one seating and everyone being served at the same time. The wines (one with each course) were presented by one of the owners of a winery in France (How often does that happen at a wine dinner?). The wines were just okay, but I enjoyed learning more about the winery. The dinner lasted several hours, which is a wonderful way to spend an evening when you're with good company. The atmospher was cozy and casual. After the dinner was over, we wanted a cup of coffee but the kitchen was closed, however, the owners gladly obliged and served the coffee to us on a tray with all the fixings in the back porch.
We had breakfast the next day which was also good (but not nearly as impressive as the wine dinner). There was a cold buffet that you serve yourself (cereal, juice, fruit, pastry, etc.) as well as a hot menu with pancakes and omelet of the day. And it's as much as you can eat. Breakfast is only available to guests of the inn.
