“Huge and very well maintained resort.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2014

All trails were open and we really enjoyed skiing there during March break. Many trailes, many lifts, no big lines. We skied from the early morning to the closing and didn’t have enough time to try all areas of the mountains. Beautiful surroundings, breathtaking view from the top. Very friendly people.

“The Beast of the East”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2014

I'm an experienced snowboarder who enjoys some challenging east coast terrain. This last trip I took my girlfriend who's a beginner. The trails are well laid out and clearly marked. We were able to find suitable terrain throughout the trip as she improved and progressed.

“Great to come back”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2014 via mobile

I haven't been to Killington since 1988 and I couldn't wait to come back. The conditions were perfect, wasn't crowded and the family had a terrific time. I really enjoyed seeing how exhausted the kids were at the end of the day. Its worth the drive from PA.

“Getting Better but not Great”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2014 via mobile

Killington is a place best suited to better skiers, familiar with the area. It has a good mix of terrain overall, although the resort's multi-peak layout is challenging to initially figure it out. The new management team has improved signage, although more specific direction to the six general base areas would help lost kids / parents. Food pricing is typical "captive market" contributing to lots of "parka paninis" .... They probably could sell more burgers by bumping up the season pass-holder discount for food. Killington is quiet non-holiday mid weeks and the crowd has a lot of 65+ retirees. Management could probably grow this segment with deeper discounts for senior season passes, perhaps targeting big local ski clubs operating in the area. Ours (Mountain Laurel Skiers of CT.) is in Ludlow & is the largest in the Ludlow-Killington region. Some mid-week skiers might be inclined to switch from Okemo if the prices were comparable. Killington's lifties & v Ambassador corps are well organized & helpful. Snowmaking for early season is much improved, as is the newly rebuilt summit lodge. Unfortunately there is an annoying mountain top sewer gas problem which must contributes to lost appetites. (& probably revenues at the new restaurant.)

“Not the most "Ski-able" mountain, but large and diverse”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 March 2014

Killington is largest in the east - as evidenced by the crowds, out-of-control snowboarders, and difficulty in getting from one peak to the next.

They could also invest in additional lift upgrades - eliminate old, slow lifts.

The terrain is diverse, from Ramshead where the kids and beg/int can have fun (including some glades), to K-1 that leads to a lot of challenging steep.

The lodges are outdated and lack capacity for the crowds. The food is average, at best.
