“Great for the price”
Reviewed 13 August 2012

We decided to get away for the weekend and enjoy the hiking at killington and surrounding areas. This was a great place for the price. It was very pleasant and the pool was excellent. We ate a quick breakfast of cereal and donuts 1 morning and then ate out the other morning...love sugar and spice.

The rooms were very spacious and clean and the location you can not beat, for this motel is close to everything. For the price you can not beat it!

Hotels.com description for the Standard King room includes "balcony or patio". Upon arrival, we've been assigned the room without either one, and told by manager that only Suites have balconies / patios and it's a mistake in the description. We've been told that we could be moved to a suite on the next day but would have to pay extra. Very unhappy about this, as it was definitely one of the selling points.
Breakfast consisted of: 2 kinds of cereal (one more stale than the other); broken juice machine; bad coffee and tea selection, some doughnuts and one kind of bagels. Cream cheese, peanut butter and jelly. That's about it. We were told breakfast is served until 10am but when we showed up on Monday at 9.58am, the food was cleared out, the room locked and nobody around.
Room was clean with overwhelming smell of some cleaning agent. Sheets and towels and even the carpet was somewhat damp but got dryer after we kept the window open for awhile. Bed was pretty comfortable. Pool seemed clean enough. Overall it's an OK place to stay a night or two if you're not too picky.

Room Tip: only suites have balconies / patios

Do not stay here! We were traveling with a group of people and made a change to our reservation several days prior to our arrival as one couple was unable to make it. We were presented with charges far greater than what we quoted over the phone upon check in and told to speak with the manager if we had a problem. The price was ultimately fixed but only after multiple inquiries. Several days after we checked out we were casually informed via e-mail that they had assessed a $75 fee for excessive wear and tear/damage/cleaning to our room. I have traveled for many years and this room was in fine condition upon our departure. When we complained, the manager was very confrontational and we were met with a bevy of excuses and roundabout explanations as to the reason for the fee. We were promised a $100 gift card to the hotel as a show of good faith which we (of course) never received. Top it all off with the fact that the room was outdated and run down, it was probably the worst hotel experience of my life.

Nice and clean but very dated....this didn't really bother us as we were there to ski. Would expect that sort of room to be cheaper though as it was definitely not perfect!
We had a two room suit which made it nice and spacious between 5 adults, but the standard 2 queen beds in the attached room would be pretty small if you only had that room.
The suit room I stayed in has water that was almost warm enough which wasn't great when you want to warm up after skiing, however, the other part of the suit had hot water so I think it depends which room you have.
One of the bathrooms had a VERY loud fan...bit of a pain if you need to use the bathroom at night.
Comfortable beds though and hearing worked fine.
Breakfast was a bit of a waste of time, REALLY unhealthy food but my brother and dad enjoyed the waffle machine...when they could get to it! Some brown bread and healthier cereals wouldn't go amiss :-)
Great location for Killington and Pico ski areas....your Killington pass will also work at Pico (smaller ski area but good at weekends/holidays when it's busy) but Pico ski pass will not work at Killington.
Overall comfortable and ok. Would probably try somewhere else next time.

This hotel was in a perfect location on the access road to Killington and very close to Pico. The efficiency and joining double bed room was perfect for our group. It had a spacious whirlpool tub was felt great after a day of skiing. We were able to hang out together in the efficiency, and have snacks and cocktails before heading out for dinner and clubs. It was perfect for it is on the route of "the bus" which picks you right up at the hotel. A major plus. We actually used the bus to take us to the mountain the next day so we did have to deal with walking a mile with our equipment. I would highly recommend it for the price!

Room Tip: The efficiency with the adjoining double bed room is the best deal around.

Stayed over President's Day weekend for a ski trip. Room was clean and had enough room for two couples + coolers + ski gear. Like all hotels near ski resorts in peak seasons, if you're not paying top dollar, it's going to be a little rundown and have few perks.

The Comfort Inn isn't luxurious. But it was just what we expected. Staff was friendly, reservation was correct. And it's close to the mountain, the Pickle Barrel, and Johnny's Boys breakfast place is walkable from your room. Also, you can park right outside your room which is handy for loading and unloading.

The continental breakfast was very crowded - hey, it's prez day weekend, right? - and consisted of english muffins, danishes, coffee, juice, hardboiled eggs, cereals, and if you wanted to wait in line, there was one wafflemaker.

The rooms are clean, however, this property needs some touching up. Some of the furnishings, carpeting, etc., are worn and need replacement or refreshing.

Location: Very good. Not slopeside, but next to shuttle bus stop and a few restaurants are a very short walk. Grist Mill restaurant/night club is just 600 yards away. Peppino's (Italian food) is 150 yards away. Johnny Boy's Pancake House is on the property and offers a better breakfast, quite complete and good. About 800 yards up the road is "Pizza Jerks" and their pizza is very good.

You CAN stay here if you don't have a car, however, some might consider this a "push", so to speak. 98% of the hotel guests come by car.

The room could be described as passable, however, the mattress was somewhat worn and was sagging in the middle. Cable TV wires were stapled to the floor molding giving an exposed look that was not attractive. Wallpaper seams were peeled away from the wall in places, and was bubbled outwards from water damage elsewhere. The TV was a 25" CRT (cathode ray tube) affair with a fair assortment of channels.

Breakfast is continental; you can make waffles. Coffee, tea, juice, cereal, muffins, bread, a toaster, yogurt, etc., made for a decent breakfast. If you stay is one to two days, the breakfast is passable.

This property has a summer pool NOT open in winter.

Rooms were clean, towels/linens good, pillows good. Wall unit heater/air conditioner worked well, but fan noise was evident. Room was cold upon arrival, but heated up within 30 minutes. We did not hear noise from neighboring rooms.

Try to avoid paying top dollar as this property is NOT worth $200 per night during peak vacation periods ("President's week). If rooms are $75/night for two, you might consider such a price a fair deal.
