Our party of 8 turned up late evening from an international flight, and felt as though we were inconveniening the owners/manager. It took an age to get some service at the front desk, and although we cleary stated on the form that we had children with us (2 kids aged 6 & 8), it was fairly obvious that this was not their preferred type of client. We were very quickly advised that an upgrade to a suite away from the main rooms nearer reception would be a good idea, and although this turned out better for us, we couldn't help feel as though it was being done to move us away from the main hotel area (and to charge us a lot more for the room).

Once we did move, I must say that the suite was very nice .. open fireplace, plenty of room, separate bedroom for the kids. But at over $300 per night, it needs to be.

In the hotel, the jacuzzi in deep snow was a real treat after a hard day on the slope, but again the children were made to feel unwelcome.

Breakfast was "average".

A nice place, good boot room, but the Snowed Inn could not work out whether it was a "quaint Inn" or a "small hotel". In the end, it fell between the two. It promotes itself as quaint and homely, but has the impersonal approach of a hotel business that in the end, made us feel like unwelcome guests rather than paying customers.

By all means go there as a couple for a romantic time away, but do not go with kids.

I had another outstanding stay at the Snowed Inn. As usual, the hospitality is exceptional, the rooms are immaculate, and the visit was thoroughly enjoyable. The inn is cozy and informal. There are plenty of excellent restaurants within walking distance. The wireless internet works without a problem. I'd highly recommend the Snowed Inn.

My husband and I arrived in Killington on Saturday, March 17th without a place to say for that evening. Earlier that week, I viewed the Snowed Inn website and thought it looked very accommodating. I called the hotel at the time for a reservation, but I was told there was no vacancy. Yet, when we drove by the inn on Saturday morning, the sign outside read "vacancy". We took a chance and stopped in. The manager [?] Jim said that the only room they had available was a standard queen room. Jim also mentioned that they had a "very nice" continental breakfast in the morning, which was included in the price.

Our standard queen room was fairly small. However, the bathroom was a good size for the room. Although the room was not particularly fancy, the room was VERY clean and the bed was comfortable. A decent sized TV [20" or so, equipped with cable, but having limited stations] was mounted on the wall in the corner, which was easily viewed from the bed. The bed, small dresser and a [hard] chair were the only furniture items in the room. I do have to agree with another reviewer that the room was dry. However, this is the nature of the area--it is cold, so you must run heat constantly. The continental breakfast was in fact, "very nice", as Jim mentioned. It included bread, bagels, waffles, a selection of cereals, fresh fruit, juice, milk and coffee. There was a toaster available to toast the bread and waffles. Clean, ceramic dishware and real silverware were provided for use. There were also several tables to sit at to enjoy your breakfast. Additionally, there is a view outside from the breakfast room and a few of the tables were located in front of the window.

We were not able to enjoy the whirlpool or the cookies, since we left early the next morning to ski.

The location is excellent; just off the main road so there is no traffic noise, yet close enough to walk to many of the restaurant and night spots.

Jim was accommodating when we asked for extra pillows for the night. He was also pleasant each time we passed by in the hall, and the next morning at breakfast.

Overall, although our visit was quite short, it was enjoyable. I would recommend the Snowed Inn if you are looking for a quiet, clean, reasonable and comfortable place to stay in the Killington area.

Keep up the good work Jim!

We just stayed at the Snowed Inn March 23rd-25th and must post our experiences. We had our 17 and 20 year old snowboard loving sons with us and decided the more room the better. With skis, snowboards, boots and gear, a double bed room is just not acceptable. We saw the two bedroom suite on the internet and it was even more room than we imagined! Is there a thing as too much room? Just about. I wish we were there for a week- it had everthing!!. We read Trip Advisor comments and have often found them to very helpful- glad we ignored any negative comments. With regard to room size- if you want a bigger room, spend the extra money and go for it. This suite was incredible- bigger/better than the 2 bedroom suite at the Waldorf in NYC. Our only regret was that we didn't have another couple join us. We went to the hott ub both nights and enjoyed a good half hour uninterrupted- no waiting. The second night it snowed while we were in the hot tub- you can't pay for that kind of experience! The breakfast was perfect- no eggs and bacon and sausage- fresh fruit, yogurts and all kinds of breads and cereal. I'd rather save loading up on calories for the restaurants and happy hours later- which were also awesome. The staff was wonderful and friendly, and "the old guy" in the kitchen WAS the man in the photos winning all those medals. (Added a wonderful nostalgia to a beautiful Vermont ski lodge). There was even a steam room in one of the bathrooms- a first in any suite we've ever stayed in! The only possible thing missing- no box of tissues. Would definitely come back! Thanks for a great time!

Having never been to Killington we used Trip Advisor to find a nice B&B, and Snowed Inn had more good reviews than any of the others. We stayed for 6 nights and loved it so much we couldn't wait to get back every evening after skiing! We had a very warm welcome from all of the staff and Manfred the owner, and Bailey the lovely dog. Jim (the manager?) was especially helpful and always came out to see us when we got in, gave us great advice on the local amenities and plenty of laughs about his snowmobiling exploits and the vagaries of English-American translations! When we arrived the log fire was burning, there were cookies and coffee on the side and it looked very peaceful, relaxing and homely.

We upgraded to a 1-bed suite, as our initial room was a little on the small side, which would be our only criticism. But rather than accept this and just post negative feedback we asked for a bigger room and it was no problem at all. We could have had a bigger room at the same rate or upgrade to a suite. We chose the suite as it was HUGE with a big fireplace in the lounge, whirlpool bath, large queen bedroom and loads of storage space, and it was spotless. In fact, every day we came back to it spotless. The continental breakfast was fresh and tasty and set us up for the day perfectly. We used the hot-tub most nights, you can share it with others (it fits 4 comfortably) or wait 30 mins for it to be free, its so hot 30mins is enough for anyone!

For us, the Snowed Inn was a brilliant place to stay, in a great location on the main Killington access road (but set back so you didn’t get any noise or passing traffic) and only a stones throw from lots of restaurants and the wobbly barn. We would definitely come back and stay in the suite and recommend it to friends.
