“Very nice manager!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

Because of Vince's reccomendation to try the rope and zip line course right outside on magic mountain, that 3 hour activity made the entire stay worth it!! First time in Vermont, went for a music festival and the lodge was pretty decent. Free morning coffee and homemade blueberry muffins made by Vince made the stay more comfortable. There's a back porch to every room and I enjoyed sitting out there. Would go back if I were to come back to Londonberry.

My partner and I stayed here over Memorial Day Weekend at Upper Pass Lodge through a Living Social deal.

The lodge is located right at the foot of the Magic Mountain surrounded by a beautiful scenery.
We arrived pretty late (about 11:30 pm) on a Friday night and were accommodated for a late check in. The lodge itself has a rustic feel and although rooms can use a bit of an updating, the overall feel of the place was just terrific. Nice enough rooms with a great jacuzzi tub !

The hospitality of Vince the general manager/the owner was absolutely impeccable and nothing like i have ever seen at any of the luxury ultra expensive hotels anywhere else. His kindness, willingness to accommodate and just overall making you feel like you are the guest at his own home were terrific!
One of the mornings we have overslept the breakfast by over an hour and a half and Vince was so nice, he cooked us breakfast without even saying anything! The food at the lodge was really great as well. We had breakfast there 3 days in a row which was a part of our Living Social deal (which was a complete bargain by the way!).

The menu is quiet simple, but is delicious. Also, i have gluten allergies and let Vince know ahead of time about that and he was so gracious to pick me up some gluten free bread for the mornings and also made me a GF french toast which wasn't even on the menu as per my request ! Wow! I never seen any general manager being so nice and accommodating! We also had a dinner there on one of the nights and the food was really good as well. All the food that is served at the UPL is all farm to table which is terrific.

The lodge itself is conveniently located and is so close to great local shops , restaurants (Solo and Garden cafe are a MUST ) and beautiful lakes and parks to visit! WE could not be any happier with our stay at Upper Pass Lodge in Londonderry!

Oh and the lodge is dog friendly which was a huge plus for us since we were able to bring our little pet child with us :)

My husband and I were supposed to stay here back in October, but unfortunately, it didn't happen due to another website overbooking The Upper Pass Lodge. We finally had our opportunity this past April.

We were able to snag an incredible deal on LivingSocial (plus their was an additional promo code): for about $125, we got 2 wonderful nights in a Jacuzzi suite.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Vince who was incredibly friendly. He gave us his personal cell phone number in case of any problems (of which there were none). We were a bit disappointed that the restaurant was closed (as we had read so many great reviews and love that it is farm-to-table), but hope to check it out next time. The bar was also closed, but Vince offered to make cocktails if we wanted them.

As part of our LivingSocial deal, we got a cheese-plate & two glasses of wine... absolutely delicious. All of the cheeses were local and just incredible. Honey was drizzled atop all of it with candied walnuts, figs, and apricots. The wine was also local and equally as delicious! Quite the nice touch!

The room was very clean and that tub... Oh, that tub! It was great.

This was a fantastic stay and I anticipate returning sooner, rather than later. I like that it has a very cozy, friendly, and social atmosphere, while still allowing for privacy (we love our privacy, haha). Vince is running a really wonderful place and I am so glad that we were able to finally visit!

Room Tip: Even in April, it was quite hot and there is no AC here. We asked for a fan and we were able to use...

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights for a relaxing getaway, the room was clean and comfortable. This lodge is perfectly located near everything!! Close to the lovely Lowell Lake where you can take a nice 3.5 miles hike, beautiful scenery. Best breakfast muffins home made every morning!! The bar area serves all Vermont drinks which is a nice touch.
The owner, "Vince" was very friendly and talkative it made us feel like home, he is so friendly, great hospitality...and offered up his personal cell # if anything was needed, he was great at giving advice for where to eat as well as things to do in the area, also you has plenty of brochures and maps of the area with all the places of interest around. The Country Stores are amazing!! It brings you back in the good old times, we drove around the area and bought fresh cage free duck eggs for $3 a dozen!! We are definitely coming back in the summer time!! Can't wait!

Rossy and Nino.

A few friends and I decided to make a last minute trip to Magic mountain and luckily found this place to stay. We couldn't have asked for a better time there. It was one of the greatest 24 hours I've had in a while! Vin who runs the place, is phenomenal. He is extremely friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The whole place is clean and cozy, and the food was surprisingly very good! I highly recommend this place to anyone, and we all look forward to coming back during any season!

This is an awesome place to stay. It is a hotel that feels like a bed and breakfast! Our family of 4 have stayed here 10 nights this year so far between both summer and winter. First off Management (Vince) and his staff are incredible!!! Vince runs this place top notch and is very passionate about creating a excellent experience for all. He joins in on conversations and makes introductions between guests. There is a nice central area with a fireplace and small bar that all the families gather. Kids that don't even know each other are friends in no time, as well as the parents sharing in the passion of Magic Mountain and ski conversations.
Some of the the best points are:
-Vince and his staff
-The atmosphere and clientele this attracts
-The food (Try the Bacon Cheeder soup and the steak..)
-Clean
-The bar and Vermont Beer, and Spirits
-Proximity to all the major mountains
-Proximity in the summer to summer fun
-Family friendly
-Pet friendly (The kids love the variety of dogs) Don't forget to tell Vince's dog he is just a Pug:)

Enjoy your stay at the Upper Pass-

The Upper Pass Lodge was amazing. We had never heard of the place nor did we know about Magic Mountain. We usually do the big mountains like Sunday River, but an amazing deal on Living Social helped us make that decision. First off, the place is quaint, relaxed, and perfect for both family getaways and romantic escapes. We did the entire family thing and it was a special weekend for all of us. Half of us skied while the other half lounged and relaxed. The family dog came with us because the entire place is pet friendly. That's a bonus in itself. We stayed in the Dostals room which had three bedrooms and three full baths. Tons of space for our family. When u look at the picture of the lodge it's the giant balcony on the second floor. There is a small bar in the hotel lobby. It looked nice but we honestly didn't make it there because we ended up trekking up the mountain to go to that bar. We did however eat dinner both nights in the lodge restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing and exceptionally priced. It should be in the magazines and is definitely a hidden gem. The waiter was new so he didn't really have the knowledge or experience of serving but the food made you forget about it all and it ended up making for funny conversation later. The manager was Vince and he treated you like a guest in his house. He was awesome and I'm happy to see other reviews complementing him as well because he definitely deserves it. Our family will definitely be coming back. Well worth the drive and more than worth the value. Thanks again Vince and the staff at the Lodge. Can't wait to come back!
