This is our first time in Okemo after over 10 years of skiing. We always likes to stay right in the ski resort for easy ski-in-ski-out. However, Okemo doesn't give us any reason to come back at all. We stay in building C, near the Okemo base lift. On our 2nd night of stay, they started to make snow right outside of our apartment window. While not being able to have a good sleep, we told ourselves that we're sacrifice ourselves to let everybody have good snow to ski. However, while we look out of the morning at daylight we found two snow makers were blowing snow right into our balcony, and the area were between woods and our bedroom, not the slope.....so what the point of sacrificing their customers' sleep to make snow between apartments and wood (there's no slope or what so ever area that do need snow...at least from what I can understand. We call the customer service...they told us they need snow..yes, I can understand...but snow outside of our apartment? We ask to talk to the manager...the same answer...they need snow...but no one has apologized or feel sorry for us or whatever, they need snow, so their customers can make do without sleep....I still have two more nigjhts here...and they've start the snow blower right at 5pm again...and we called again, and again they're telling us they need snow so live with it.....not sure if I can survive this, may as well just pack and go home.....

We selected this property based on the amenitities. We were really looking forward to a nice relaxing overnight stay at a place with a hot tub. We arrived at Okemo Mt. Lodge only to find that the hot tub closed at 9pm and were told we could come back at 7am when the hot tub would reopen....So disappointed we went to our room to unload our belongings and relax. We entered thru the front door and PHEW...my friend referred to the smell as Nordic crotch...Gross wet old ski boot odor...Yuck! We stayed in the queen room which had a nice flat screen tv in the living room area and bedroom, a pretty fireplace and a small kitchen. The furniture and the decorations are in terrible need of an update. The bed was uncomfortably hard with the most hideous bed cover from the 1970's...The wall had a super ugly quilted hanging ...pic enclosed for laughs....Definitely not at all up to our expectations....The next morning we got up early to use the hot tub (7am) only to find it "doesn't open until 10am"....What?! Needless to say DISAPPOINTED. We stayed 45min away from our final destination only to stay in an old smelly room!

Room Tip: Look somewhere else....

I actually did not stay in the hotel as the room was 95 degrees at check-in and there was no air conditioning. The front desk then tried to convince us that "people like it." I know nobody who would like to sleep in a 95 degree room. It may be a fine location in the winter time but in the summer it is an absolute no go.

Thank you for your feedback. It has prompted us to talk with all our staff to be sure they are explaining what properties have air-conditioning (Jackson Gore Inn) and those that do not (condos mountain-wide). We understand this is a key decision-maker for many and we need to make it more clear for our guests.

While we understood that Okemo is primarily a ski resort, my husband and I wanted to attend Hops in the Hills this summer, so booked a room at the Mountain Lodge. My overall impression is, don't bother with Ludlow in the summer. The place is a complete dead zone-- Okemo itself looked like Disneyland post-apocalypse. Check-in was two miles away at Jackson Gorge, as were all the amenities and even the hops festival itself, which made staying at the Mountain Lodge to avoid drunk driving completely pointless. The room had a decent layout, open plan fully equipped kitchen, living room area with a TV, one bedroom with two queens. However, there was no air conditioning, the lighting was dim, and the TV remote didn't work. Almost everything listed in the guide book was winter-only. The website REALLY needs to do a better job communicating which amenities are located where, and what is open when. Longtime visitors might find this stuff redundant, but newcomers and non-skiiers will be left confused and frustrated.

We ultimately decided, after driving by the Hops festival, that it didn't look worth the twenty-dollar admission fee, and opted to eat at the Downtown Grocery instead. The food and service we received there were phenomenal and would be the only reason we'd consider returning to the area. The fishing and hiking are far better in Addison County, the Waterbury-Stowe area, or the Northeast Kingdom.

Again, I'm sure this place is hopping in the winter and is great for skiiers, but the resort needs to be clearer about the fact that there's really not much in the summer.

We ultimately decided

Room Tip: Stay at Jackson Gorge for better amenities.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I regret that the reservationist assisting you did not recommend a stay at the Jackson Gore Inn, where the amenities and events you were interested in were taking place. I think you would have had a much more enjoyable stay as that is the hub of our summer activity.

That said, we will take this review and use it to help review these details with our staff. I am glad you enjoyed your meal at the Downtown Grocery and hope you were able to enjoy our other downtown merchants.

The condo we rented was right at the top of one of the lifts at OKEMO Mountain. How fantastic to start the day in a sunny, comfortable condo with homemade breakfast in our PJ's and get into ski gear and be at the top of the lift for our first run. The view was beautiful from the living room and bedroom. There was plenty of room for a family of 4 to spread out, reading, listening to music, playing board games or watching a movie on the large screen in the living room. After a day of skiing we ate dinner at the lodge and watched a "rail" competition at the bottom of the slope. Very fun and exciting to see what skiers and snowboarders can do on the top of a metal pipe. We headed to the condo, grabbed swimsuits and relaxed our muscles in the hottubs at the pool facility. Home for a movie and ice cream. Staff at the lodge were friendly and knowledgeable about rentals, restaurants, locations and touring. This is our third year going to OKEMO for spring skiing in March. We will definitely be there again.

Room Tip: Although the 20 somethings like the lower floor because they can walk right in from the slopes thru...

First, this place is extremely outdated. Upon entering the suite our first impression was that the carpets were disgusting, the kitchen from the 70s, the furniture from your dentist office, the bathrooms are small (they did leave a used toothbrush in case you forgot your own). Blankets had rips with stuffing exposed. An overall skeeved out feeling. Understand before you book, these units are privately owned and may vary in quality. The manager recommended that we call and specifically ask about each room in advance. We have never complained and have traveled and skied all over the US and felt obligated to warn others from making this decision. The manager was arrogant and suggested we try the facilities at Jackson Gore. Folks... Do yourself a favor and stay at Jackson Gore. We switched rooms and stayed there! The trip turned out great.

I stayed in a "Grand Suite" in Okemo's Solitude Village in early February 2012. Booking for two couples (which was made clear at the time), I was disappointed to be given a condo apartment which contained bunk beds. Despite raising the issue immediately, I was not offered anything reasonable (except to move to a lesser room but not a lesser price). They promised to get back to me with other options, but ignored me for the rest of my 8 day visit. To pay nearly $600/night for bunk beds (without it being made clear in advance or requested) is not acceptable. I followed up after my stay in writing, but was met with an email which mistook me for another customer and did not respond to any of the points I'd made.

Okemo as a resort is good, but can't you find a cheaper bunk bed (and some sense of customer service) somewhere else?

I am very sorry to learn of your recent experience staying at Solitude Village. More, I regret that we did not solve the problem with your accommodations during your eight night stay. We should have done more to rectify the situation.

Regardless, I would like an opportunity to make it right, and would offer you a 20% discount on your next stay, and will take care of your reservation personally. We've gotten some fantastic snow in the past few days, and perhaps you might be able to come and enjoy it.

Thanks again for sharing your feedback. We take it seriously, and use it as an opportunity to improve.
