The skiing was AWESOME! Ski school was great- teachers were excellent!

We stayed in Building C. I know some complain about the paking at the Lodge but for Building C the parking lot is at your front door, you don't use the main parking lot like the other buildings. It took all of 1 minute to get on the slopes from our place, what more could you ask for on a ski vacation?

The condo was good. The decor was straight our of the 80's, so don't go expecting a flat screen TV or updated kitchen or overall decor. There was a CD player but that was the only thing in the place made after 1985. The kitchen had everything you will need (plates, bowls, silverware, glasses, wine opener...) Some people in other reviews mentioned the heat. I have to agree, it is SOOOOO hot when the air clicks on. So either shut some vents or keep the air on a super low setting. The pull out sofa was not comfy. My son didnt seem to mind it, but I had to lay on it for a few hours and it was awful!

We had to use the laundry facility while we were there (2nd floor) and the machines were new and worked great, the change machine ($1.75 for the washer and the dryer each) is in the main lodge.

We went over to Jackson Gore a number of times to use the pools and sit in the bar area for drinks, hot chocolate or relax by the fire. The ambiance is def. better over there but you will apy big for it! It was easy to drive over and drive back, not a big deal at all. The pool at the Spring house was great. Our kids (ages 6 and 3) loved it. The locker rooms were nice and clean and we used them to get changed in.

The only con I have about the whole place is the we were on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator, that was a pin, but nothing that ruined our trip or anythign like that...a little extra excersize!!!

We stayed in Building A, directly opposite the lower ticket window and the clock tower. 2 minute walk to lifts, base lodge and car. Free wifi. Great kitchen, loaded with everything. Fold out bed awful, however! Only negative, otherwise great stay.

Yes it is true the heating system is terrible, and, the parking is a terrible experience when your going to dinner in town but have to treck across the tundra, in the dark, to get your car.
The rooms are dated, I was really dissapointed when we walked in. The carpet is worn, the seams are pulling apart on all the wallpaper in the bathroom (may have something to do with the heat?). Drain in the bathtub didn't work well, it's one of those showers where your standing in water over your ankles 'cause it doesn't drain properly.
Okemo is great for skiing but I was worried about taking the shuttle from any of the hotels in town...as it turns out the shuttles are an easy experience, and, you can store your skis on site at Okemo. Definitely come here and ski, but take your lodging dollars to somewhere that focuses on a quality lodging experience...which is not this place.

Oceandiver95-
We appreciate all guest comments and understand the constructive criticism is more important than the praising. There are 77 condominiums in the Okemo Lodge. While many of them are available for rentals, unit owners are free to use different rental agencies (other than through our resort). Without a specific unit #, we cannot comment on your concerns with the interior. However, we will forward this information on to the Board of Directors of the Condo Association, the Lodging Director and the independent rental agencies.

We were very pleased to read your positive comments regarding the resort and our shuttle system and look forward to having you on the mountain again soon.

Thank you,
Okemo Mountain Resort

The location is great if you're a beginner. The ski school instructors are awesome! Okemo Mountan lodge is a far cry from a hotel. Its a bunch of condos with balconies and its extremely noisy when they have to make snow @ 4:00am or smooth out the existing snow. The 1 bedroom condo, had a tiny bathroom you could barely close the door. The heat in the place was forced hot air and it was hot as hell! You can pick any other hotel and you would be better off!!!

WOW!!! This was one of my best ski vacations. No need to go to the Rockies and have the kids suffer altitude sickness. The chairlift, rental shop, ski school, base lodge, equipment shop, restaurants, etc. are right outside your door. Once you park, there is no need to use your car again. There was terrain for all abilities. I have found my ultimate ski vacation spot. Also, the rates were reasonable for a fully-equipped one bedroom condo during Martin Luther King weekend. I also priced rooms at another newer condo on the mountain (Jackson Gore) but after visiting it, I was grateful to have chosen Okemo Mountain Lodge for its better value and location. The rental agents (Slopeside Okemo) were great.

Overall, this is a good place to stay if you want to ski Okemo for a few days. This mountain has a good variety of slopes and is very good for beginner skiiers. Several nice long green runs.

We went a little late in the year (Mar 23-28), and the snow was slushy. Some runs were also closed - but there was never a wait on a lift line. I think a little earlier in March would be a nice time to go -- not as cold as Jan/Feb, but plenty of snow.

Let me share a few specifics of what we liked/didn't like.
Good things:
- Room was nice, clean, and had a full kitchen.
- Couch was comfy, as were the beds.
- Facilities at Okemo are nice - were able to quickly rent equipment and get to the slopes.
- Lunch at the lodge was very good and fresh.
- Use of the facilities at the Spring House. Nice hot tub, pool, and racketball courts.

Not so good things:
- No elevator. We were on the third floor.
- Staff at check-in time (in the morning) were mostly curt and unfriendly. (The guy in the afternoon shift was very polite.)
- Not a lot do at night. Maybe during peak season the lodge provides some additional entertainment. There were no activities when we were there.
- Internet did not work in our room. Had to go down the hall or out onto the balcony to get a decent signal.
- Could not reasonably book a room for Saturday night - Wednesday night, because they want you to stay at the weekend rate for Fri & Sat nights. The rate I was given for Sun - Wed night was nearly half of the quote they gave me for Sat - Wed night. (Poor policy for off-season when you have lots of vacant rooms.)

One really crummy thing:
- Parking. It is not at the lodge -- it is in the general skiier parking lot. On the weekend, I could not even get into my "reserved" parking spot because they parked other skiiers cars so close that you couldn't even turn into it. Also, the parking lot was a mud bath. A good 2 inches of mud everywhere, and lots of holes filled with muddy water. Yuck! I'm sure this is an icy mess when it is colder. It would be nice if they would pave their parking.
